"True conformity to the dictates of nature requires reverence for the past and solicitude for the future. 'Nature' is not simply the sensation of the passing moment; it is eternal, though we evanescent men experience only a fragment of it. We have no right to imperil the happiness of posterity by impudently tinkering with the heritage of humanity."
"Every right is married to a duty, every freedom owns a corresponding responsibility. There cannot be genuine freedom unless there exists also genuine order in the moral realm and in the social realm."

Enya is a tough one for me. There are some of her songs that I absolutely love. There are some that just bore me to tears.
Having said that, she is an awesome talent and very influential in a lot of ways. Her voice is excellent and really relaxing. Every time a song of hers comes up on Highlander or Sirius, I definitely give a listen.

Love Enya! I have all but her latest album/CD. I like that her music is so atmospheric. I would put on a few of her CDs, the last time I read thru the Lord of the Rings. Made an excellent soundtrack for my journey thru Middle Earth!

Oooooo. That does sound like a good idea. I have her new aldum Amarantine, and I love it. There are a couple of tracks on the cd that do sound a lot like some of her other songs...but I love them anyway. I find her music so mysterious and relaxing.
I like to lie on the coutch listening to her. I like haveing the baby listen too. Then I fall asleep. haha! SOOOO RELAXING! Love her!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
I've noticed that Enya's work all seems to sound the same after a while. While I like listening to it from time to time, I do wish she would try her hand at other forms and mix up the sounds a little bit. Give it a fresh feeling again like the first day we heard Orinoco Flow...

I love Enya! Doesn't she sing in Adiemus by Karl Jenkins? Karl Jenkins went to my comprehensive (high) school and came to visit the odd time I was a pupil there. I think I might go buy Amarantine - I've been inspired by this forum...

She updated her site a bit. They are suppose to be loading more (but not new) videos onto the site. You can still see more on youtube than on the website. New Christmas single at Target stores only.

"Irishness is not primary a question of birth or blood or language; it is the condition on being involved in the Irish situation, and usually of being mauled by it."-Conor Cruise O'Brien
Just picked up her christmas CD today at target for $6. All the songs on the CD have been released before except for Music of the Night which was okay. Sadly theCd was located in one of those plywood looking displays which have a batch of generic CDs where you can hear selections by pushing on the picture of the cd. Doesn't look like a too promising career booster for Enya.
I've always loved Enya myself. I haven't gotten her more recent albums due to not wishing to support RIAA. I usually buy CDs from independent artists who self produce their albums. Since I work on the sound crew for San Diego Folk Heritage, I get to meet a lot of independent musicians.

Love her! what is even better, my 4 boys love her, my mom bought her latest and they love it. It works amazingly well to calm the 2 middle boys when they have a meltdown,If they are having an especially tough time and major meltdowns, pop in a cd of the pipes and whewwww, all is calm again!
They updated the watchtower section. All of her videos are there now. And there is a special edition of Amarantine out with a book about the Loxian songs.
