Hello mercyfor me!

Glad to see you posting! So many of our new members join but then we never hear from them again! I've never been to Scotland or Ireland, but I hope to someday! What Celtic music do you like? I like Capercaillie, Clannad, Mary Jane Lamond, Dougie MacLean, and many more!

Well, gotta go! And again, Failte!

How long have you been here??

Posted by: wizardofowls 07-May-2004, 06:04 AM
Since March 12. I really like it here! Lots of good people, interesting conversation, what more could you possibly want? (Well, If the sitewould serve me a super large frosty cold mug of root beer, then it would be the PERFECT site! wink.gif )

Hey Mercyforme!
I am Stephanie, one of the youngest Celtic Radio members. I am a junior -- well I guess as of today --- a SENIOR smile.gif at a small Christian University. Tomorrow I am recieving my associates degree in nursing.
I have been to England and Scotland, but have only seen Ireland from the sky. My grandfather was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland, so I went over there with my grandparents to visit the kin. It is awesome. I have never seen any place like Scotland. Beautiful, beautiful land! I could be a wee bit biased though, since the highlands are still flowing strongly through my veins. biggrin.gif

Hope to see you posting more around the site!

Hi Mercyforme hug.gif

Welcome to the fold, I'm sure you will enjoy being here, nothing but a bunch of good people here.

I know what you mean about the music, I run and automotive repair shop, when I work on my own car, I put the PA next to my computer and fill the shop. laugh.gif

Hello, mercyforme. I'm a relative newcomer here, too, although I've been listening to Celtic music for almost 15 years. My favorite artists include Silly Wizard, Altan, Loreena McKinnett, Connie Dover, Runrig, and the McKrells. Favorite songs include Barrett's Privateers (and the parody Garnet's Homemade Beer), Summer Walker, The Highwayman, and Mallie Leigh. Have fun and check out the 4 word story thread in the forum.

I read something once, but can't remember who wrote it:

"Hold fast to dreams for when dreams die,
life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly"

I like that one!!!!

Keep dreaming!

Hi! and Welcome Mercyforme!!

You've asked for sites about Ireland. Let's see what we can all come up with for you gossip.gif ---

www.irishcultureandcustoms.com/index.html
www.hoganstand.com/general/identity/index.htm

I know there are many more that have been mentioned, and enjoyed, here on the posts as well. We need to hear from CelticRose and Arianrhod! You may want to also look at the Geneology forum, under Special Interests, to find more links.

Enjoy!

Hi mercyforme!
I've been listening to celtic/trad music for...well, a long time.
Just saw Old Blind Dogs a coupla weeks ago. You should check them out if you haven't before.
I typically browse this site from work - it has a much better connection than my dial-up at home!

Posted by: mercyforme 12-May-2004, 01:44 PM
thankyou kindly
