This is a question for Scottish Gaelic though. Giving an answer from an Irish doctionary is like checking a Danish Dictonary for English words |

Little sister = piuthar bheag
Of course, you might have to use a different case depending on context. |

P.S. if you are addressing her, you need the vocative case, which would be:
a phiuthar! a phiuthrag! a phiuthar bheag! |

leannan without accent. I don't know a dheòin.
Seadh means sure. If you want to say yes, you repeat the verb in its independent form. |

Halò agus fàilte ort!
Tha mi an dòchas gun còrd Muile riut. I hope you will like Mull.
The name of the language is Gàidhlig, Gaeilige is Irish. You have to be careful when surfing the web, there are a lot of online phrase books out there that mix both languages and are full of mistakes.

Nuair a thòisich mi air a’ Ghàidhlig ionnsachadh, b’ e goireas glè chudromach is prìseil a bh’ anns na h-òrain aig Runrig dhomh gus a fuaimean a chleachdadh. Bha a’ mhòr-chuid de na stràcan a dhìth air na faclan sgrìobhte co-dhiù agus tha mi air sgrùdadh nam faclan uile a dhèanamh gus na sràcan a bha a dhìth a chur riutha. Geibhtear na faclan air làrach-lìn Fòram na Gàidhlig.
Mòran taing do Runrig airson cead foillseachaidh a thoirt dhomh.
When I started learning Gaelic, Runrig’s songs were a very important and treasured ressourse for me for learning the pronunciation. Most of the accents were missing from the written words though, so I went through all the lyrics and added the missing accents. You can get the lyrics at the Fòram na Gàidhlig website.
Many thanks to Runrig for giving me permission to publish them. |
