I have been a memebr of beliefnet for about 4 years now(albeit in a constant one over the past 2) and this is a "quiz" that gives you the religions/spiritual beleifs your ideas most closely resemble. Sometimes the results are predictable..sometimes they aren't. I have had many friends surprised at the outcome.
I am posting the here because I didnt think it belonged in general and may spur some conversations.

They cant give all of the answers to all fo the questions so , sometimes, you have to pick the one that most closesly resembles yours.
enjoy

I wll post my results as well.

I took this quiz over a year ago... it is here somewhere among all the pages in these forums...

Posted by: Annham 28-Oct-2004, 09:31 PM
Your Results:
The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.

Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking.

How did the Belief-O-Matic do? Discuss your results on our message boards.

Very interesting quiz. I don't think it went nearly deep enough, but interesting nonetheless. Maybe should be used as a "litmus test" when interviewing prospective ministers for your congregation? biggrin.gif

Me (no big secret here):

1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)
2. Orthodox Quaker (97%)
3. Seventh Day Adventist (84%)
4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (81%)
5. Eastern Orthodox (70%)
...
23. Sikhism (32%)
24. Taoism (31%)
25. Secular Humanism (29%)
26. Scientology (29%)
27. New Thought (28%)

I thought it is interesting to see when each of us hit a "drop-off", say at the 75% area, or when did each of us lose commonality with the other faiths. I hit the 75% drop-off at #5, Irish Stepper at #7, VetteGal at #9, and MacEoghainn at #3. It could be argued that some here are very "narrow minded", but I like to think of it rather as a "strong, defined faith" (a good thing), assuming (of course) that this quiz is in any way accurate or simply merely entertaining.

It would be very interesting to take this quiz once every 10 years throughout your life and then compare the various results to see how you "evolved" over your life and your life's experiences: "Back in high school I was an X, when I got married I was a Y, and now at retirement I am a Z."

Yes, I agree, that would be interesting :-)

Also, I think it is interesting how "Mainline to Liberal Christain Prostetant" percentages come out so close to the top within a variety of combinations that include many I wouldn't think were very closely related to "Mainline Christainism"... ie...
Neo Paganism, Secular Humanism, Orthodox Quaker, Baha'i faith, Sikhism,

Like Shadows I took this test about two years ago. This was in the early beginning of my spiritual journey. I now was interested to see if the changes which had taken place in the meantime were reflected by this new attempt on the test. And amazingly (or not) it exactly shows the developpment I made since. It shows where I found my home. smile.gif

Heh heh. That's about right. How intertsting to have Bahai in the top 10. I don't quite get #2 -- that seems to be a fly on the wall default kind of thing . smile.gif But definitely the mix of pagan, quaker and humanist says it all. New England saying: if a sheep has four legs, and you call a tail a leg, the sheep has four legs, because calling a tail a leg don't make it one.

Without typing it all I go from Neo-Pagan ontop to Seventh Day adventist on the bottom. My results put ALL the Christian sects at the bottom, but for somwe reason reformed Judaism was in the top 5?

Could it be that Judism was the 1st basis of one diety in the ancient world?

Just asking.
