By the time the Lord made woman, he was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and asked, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
The Lord answered. "Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not be plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on Diet Coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart and she will do everything with only two hands."
The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model? That's too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."
"I won't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation, which is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days."
The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "You have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
"Will she be able to think?" asked the angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate."
The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."
"That's not a leak," the Lord corrected, "that's a tear!" "What's the tear for?" the angel asked the Lord.
The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord! You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing."
And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile, when they want to scream. They sing, when they want to cry. They cry, when they are happy and laugh, when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer, when they believe there is a better solution. They go without, so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry, when their children excel and cheer, when their friends get awards. They are happy, when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break, when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong, when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart."
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or email you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
SO PLEASE - pass this along to all your women friends and relatives to remind them just how amazing they truly are.

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
How true! It's a cute story. Thanks for sharing, Cecilia.

Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson If you judge people you have no time to love them. ~Mother Teresa
We are wonderful, aren't we? There have been times when I've watched a sad tv program and get leaky! Usually my hubby gets his hankerchief out without a word and hands it to me! Yes I agree, I love being a woman and I like to be treated like one!
That was a lovely piece to share. I love being a Woman. (Wife, Mother, dauther, Sister, etc.) I am most deffinatly one of the emotional ones, I think I cry over anything.
My daugters are the same, and they bring such a big smile to my face. They too will be proud to be of the female line!
Before I was a Mom I made and ate hot meals. I had unstained clothing. I had quiet conversations on the phone. Before I was a Mom I slept as late as I wanted And never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday. Before I was Mom I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.
Before I was a Mom I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom I had never been puked on Pooped on Spit on Chewed on Peed on Or pinched by tiny fingers
Before I was a Mom I had complete control of my mind My thoughts My body And my mind. I slept all night. Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child So that doctors could do tests Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces When I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small Could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small Could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom I had never gotten up in the middle of the night Every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay I had never known the warmth The joy The love The heartache The wonder Or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom
