Hello there. My name is Martha, and I live in Central Massachusetts. I love Highland Scottish music and Irish Pub Music. I found Highland Radio on Live 365, and enjoy the wide variety of music that is played. My pasttimes include candlepin bowling, reading, my kitties, my family, and just hanging out. Before I close, let me tell you a quick story....one of the reasons that I was attracted to Highland music is because I participated in a parade when I was really young, and had to dress up in Traditional Scottish garb to be on a parade float. While dressed in my little kilt, my Dad took a picture of me, next to the drum major of the Scottish Kiltie band that was participating in the parade. Thus sparked an interest........almost 30 years!!! Did I mention that my hubby is of Irish Decent?
Hope to meet everyone soon!!(I like to read and post!!)

Welcome to Highlander Radio Martha from Massachusetts. I am so glad you are enjoying the music. I hope you will enjoy the forum as well. The people here are very nice. I am looking forward to your postings and getting to know you better.
I seem to always have loved Scottish music probably because my Mother sang it to me when I was a babe, and I have sung it to my children and grandchildren. I think it is really the sound and the beat of celtic music that draws us. Scottish, Irish, the music has a lilt to it.
The song I remember best from my mother is the Skye Boat Song, I love singing that to my offspring along with Coulter's Candy.
I know you will continue to enjoy this great site with the engaging people who inhabit it.
