O'siyo, Without a doubt one Hymn that leaves me breathless is 'Amazing Grace'..it doesn't even have to be sung..on CelticRadio I have heard it played on the bagpipes often and it takes all that I have not to 'cry' a bit Someone very near and dear to me has asked me to promise that when he leaves Mother Earth that I will see to it that he is taken back to Scotland, Edinburgh, and buried beside of his Grams..he has also asked me to have the bagpipes/pipers playing and has requested that 'Amazing Grace' be played..it is going to be one of the most glorious tasks I will take on, yet, one of the hardest ..so tis one reason why that song is so special.. ~~Sty-U

I always knew one day I would travel this road;I just did not know that today would be the day....
'Each man is good in his sight. It is not necessary for eagles to be crows' --Sitting Bull
'Why do you take by force what you could obtain by love?' --Powhatan
'HeartAches mend, HeartBreaks are everlasting'-- my own quote, seeker
Nearer, still nearer, close to thy heart Draw me my Savior so precious thou art. Fold me, O fold me, close to thy breast. Shelter me safe in that haven of rest. Shelter me safe in that haven of rest.
Nearer, still nearer, nothing I bring. Naught as an offering to Jesus my King. Only my sinful, now contrite heart. Grant me the cleansing thy blood doth impart. Grant me the cleansing thy blood doth impart.
Nearer, still nearer, Lord to be thine Sin with it's follies I gladly resign. All of it's pleasures, pomp and it's pride. Give me but Jesus, my Lord crucified. Give me but Jesus, my Lord crucified.
Nearer, still nearer, while life shall last. Till safe in glory my anchor is cast. Through endless ages, ever to be Nearer, my Savior, still nearer to thee. Nearer, my Savior, still nearer to thee.
This has got to be my all time favorite hymn.

Does anyone know the words to I Cannot Tell? It is sung to the tune of O Danny Boy but I don't know all the words to it. This is the chorus
But this I know, all flesh shall sing his praises, The morn will break as all creation sings. The sun will rise on one eternal morning, When Christ the Saviour of the world is Lord and King.
"In Christ Alone" - which I want played at my funeral:
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save 'Till on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me For I am His and He is mine Brought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand 'Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
Lo, how a Rose e?er blooming from tender stem hath sprung! Of Jesse?s lineage coming, as those of old have sung. It came, a floweret bright, amid the cold of winter, When half spent was the night.
Isaiah ?twas foretold it, the Rose I have in mind; With Mary we behold it, the virgin mother kind. To show God?s love aright, she bore to us a Savior, When half spent was the night.
The shepherds heard the story proclaimed by angels bright, How Christ, the Lord of glory was born on earth this night. To Bethlehem they sped and in the manger they found Him, As angel heralds said.
This Flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air, Dispels with glorious splendor the darkness everywhere; True Man, yet very God, from sin and death He saves us, And lightens every load.
O Savior, Child of Mary, Who felt our human woe, O Savior, King of glory, Who dost our weakness know; Bring us at length we pray, to the bright courts of heaven, And to the endless day!

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Eternal Father, strong to save, Whose arm hath bound the restless wave, Who biddest the mighty ocean deep Its own appointed limits keep; Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!
O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard And hushed their raging at Thy Word, Who walked on the foaming deep, And calm amidst its rage didst sleep; Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!
Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood Upon the chaos dark and rude, And bid its angry tumult cease, And give, for wild confusion, peace; Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!
O Trinity of love and power! Our family shield in danger?s hour; From rock and tempest, fire and foe, Protect us wheresoever we go; Thus evermore shall rise to Thee Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
I think this is a funny, didn't think this would be the answer - but it is kind of true What Kind of Catholic Are You? Results of Beliefnet's Catholic identity quiz
You are a traditionalist Catholic You wish the church would revive the time-honored customs and strong institutional discipline that prevailed before the Second Vatican Council. Your favorite hymn is probably "Immaculate Mary," your favorite pope is Pius X, and your idea of a great Catholic movie is "The Bells of St. Mary's."
I danced in the morning when the world was begun, And I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun, And I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth, At Bethlehem I had my birth.
Refrain
Dance, then, wherever you may be; I am the Lord of the Dance, said he. And I?ll lead you all wherever you may be, And I?ll lead you all in the dance, said he.
I danced for the scribe and the Pharisee, But they would not dance and they would not follow me; I danced for the fishermen, for James and John; They came to me and the dance went on.
Refrain
I danced on the sabbath when I cured the lame, The holy people said it was a shame; They whipped and they stripped and they hung me high; And they left me there on a cross to die.
Refrain
I danced on a Friday and the sky turned black; It?s hard to dance with the devil on your back; They buried my body and they thought I?d gone, But I am the dance and I still go on.
Refrain
They cut me down and I leapt up high, I am the life that?ll never, never die; I?ll live in you if you?ll live in me; I am the Lord of the Dance, said he.
