Okay, here is a mystery for you : http://www.stonehengeusa.com/ We don't know who built it, why it was built, or what it was used for, except for the fact that it bears a startling resemblance to the same structures found in the British Isles. It may even be celtic for all that we know! I will bet that most people here in America did not know of it, so that is why I have posted it here. If anyone has ever visited this place and would like to share their views or make any comments, please feel free. I am intensly curious about all things celtic!

Okay, curiousity is getting the better of me, I know - but it is a rainy day...I am broke...I am bored...and I have already run out of things to do at WalMart... I was surfing the net, and lo and behold I found this amazing photo that looks identical to the Miami Stonhenge site, except for the fact that it is clear across the Atlantic in Great Britain! http://www.crystalinks.com/seahenge.html I have stumbled across a couple of truly wierd psychotic delusional sites, that I decided not to post links here - one was using these archaelogical discoveries to promote the idea of a Master White Race (uuugh!) , and another which insisted that these sites are proof positive of ancient Alien Visitiations from UFOs. Okay, I will believe the UFO theory waaaaaaaaaay before I believe the Master Race Theory...(insert UFO emoticon) the septic tank theory was sort of amusing, but I think a bit irrational... Now I will pose my theory - #1 I think that ancient men and women were a whole LOT smarter than we ever give them credit for (how many lost arts have we lost through the centuries?) #2 I think ancient men knew how to build really strong boats that could sail any where in the world that they wanted to go (think of Thor Heirdahl and his Kon Tiki expedition) and #3 Once the people got to where they wanted to go, they built these Megalith things because there were somehow important to their culture. Either is was very important for them to have a calendar for planting crops and such, or it was important to their basic spiritual beliefs, or important to their government, or because they were dilithium traders with members of the Federation What do you think?

Okay, perhaps these Monoliths were built merely as Artistic Sculptures and their purposes were merely decorative, as in the Stonehenges on this website (includes photos of Car Henge): http://www.roadsideamerica.com/set/OVERhenges.html But I was wondering why ancient Celts would sail all the way to America and then build these structures 4,000 years ago? Why would they go through all of the trouble it takes to do that?

Okay so now we have the Stonehenge Trailor Park Theory which happens to coincide with Spring Break - Mystery Solved! (Sure beats the heck out of the Ancient Septic Tank Theory, doesn't it?) I still like the trailer park theory. it could kind of coincide with the septic system. But if you truly want to know, I think they built it because they knew that 4,000 years later some one would want to start a discussion about them on a message board. Just a cruel, cruel joke.

Well very interesting Free2Bme! What I would like to know is did you find any articles on anybody actually going through those stones and being sent back in time. Seems like there is a lot of fiction books out there and now a movie about being able to be sent back in time. Sounds cool to be able to do so, but I don't think I would do so good. I like the modern conveniences too much! I mean they didn't have CDs and DVDs back then!

We were supposed to stop at the American Stonehenge in Oct. during a wine weekend at a B&B in Sanbornton but it was raining when we landed in Manchester. Having already viewed the web page before, we knew it would be very muddy and passed on it for that trip. If the weather is good next Oct. when we go up for wine weekend, we'll make the quick trip from the airport. Looks rather interesting.
