I am trying hard to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. My feeling is that only God knows the outcome and is in control. If any of you believe in prayer there is nothing more we can do.

How's life treating you all?

Life has a been very busy with family from out of state visiting. Was truly a great time!

Who is your favorite Celtic artist?

Gosh! So many, but I love Loreena Mckinnett, Albannach, and Capercaillie!

What are your hobbies and interests?

The Christian band Rend Collective have out a Christmas CD called "A Jolly Irish Christmas" and a new single called "Come out Fighting". If you are new to hearing about this band the closest pop music reference would be Mumford and Sons. You can check out their website and music videos here: https://rendcollective.com/

Robert, I know this post is old but I really appreciate the recommendation. Hopefully, the band is still putting out music at the time I have read this. biggrin.gif

Thanks so much Haynes. Life has been a bit hectic so I haven't had time to get back on here as I would like.

After photographing people for so long I needed a break. That's when I was introduced to nature/wildlife photography 7 years ago and never looked back.

Thanks so much for all the welcomes!

Hey Rose! Good to see you back here! Did you go to the festival in Flagstaff this year? My youngest daughter and I went. It was not up to previous years, but I think it is getting better coming out of Covid.

Great to have you back on board! Lord bless!

Well hello there long lost but renewed friend!! No, I honestly have not been able to attend any festivals for awhile. I have gotten myself way too involved in nature/wildlife photography so spend most of my time either out taking photos or at home editing them all. It has been such oppressive heat here in AZ. Hard to go out anywhere. Looking so forward to cooler weather so I can get out and about again.

Sure hope this finds you and yours doing well. Been a very long time. Thanks for the welcome!

Hey all. I used to be very involved in this forum a lot so many years ago. Life has taken me in different directions and paths during my absence, but looking forward to the Celtic music I have missed so much as well as fellowship with new and old friends who love all things Celtic.

Slàinte Mhath!

Welcome back DesertRose - so good to have you! We occasionally have had several long lost members return to pop in and say Hi. Ran across Oldraven on that new threads app - another long time member.

You came back at a good time as we are doing a refresh of the site, the site had fallen into a little disrepair but things seems to be working better now.

WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so very much!! I have never stopped loving Celtic music and know from personal experience I can always find new music here. Unfortunately, I can't always be too active, but will try my best. Great to be back. Looking forward to the new changes and catching up with old friends, such as yourself.

I know I should have been doing this a whole lot sooner but the beginning of this year whenever I see someone wearing a Veteran cap I make a point to go over to that person and thank them for their service. Just to see the light of surprise in their eyes that someone actually cares enough to say thank you means a lot to our veterans. I am not patting my back by any means but I think our veterans and active military are unappreciated and not thanked enough for the sacrifices they make.

Been thinking about going the route of internet streaming as there are so many shows on cable I am not interested in. Wondering if streaming is cheaper but then we keep having internet issues that no one can seem to fix so I guess we hang onto Starz to watch Outlander for now.

I was behind in watching all of Season 2 of Outlander this year but I believe the season finale was the latter part of May. Now they are already filming Season 2 which is scheduled for release in 2016. Here is a link that I hope is ok to share. Gives a wee bit of what's to come. Can't wait!!

I finally finished watching all episodes of the first season. Boy! Went out with a bang and pretty intense.

Not sure when Season 2 begins. I am assuming next spring sometime.

In the meantime, I have since learned that Diana is working on book #9 and there will be 10 books altogether in the series.

So what did you all think about Season 1?

Thought I would stop in here and say hello. Been an awful long time since I have done so. Something always seems to come up. Over four years ago I got involved in fashion photography and life became really crazy which led me to burn out and health problems in January of this year. Left the fashion world behind and made decision I would only photograph things that could not talk. So I went into nature photography. Well, I have asthma and got hit really hard with that nine weeks ago and been sick with it ever since!! I am getting better and manage to sneak outside a wee bit to take photos of back yard critters. It is so hot here and I know that is not helping my lungs either. Besides, who wants to do anything when it is so hot. If I felt good enough I would make a trip up north but stuck here in the house to get well. Like most things in life, this too shall pass and things sure could be far worse.

I hope this find everyone else doing well.

Robert, I was looking at youtube and one can find quite a bit on there regarding the Outlander series. Were you able to at least watch Episode 1 and 2 on youtube? I did love that scene where Dougal and Jamie were playing Shinty, especially when Jamie won!!

Shadows...but, but Outlander has already been renewed for Season 2. Will you not watch it then?

I have said before I have read the first five books in the series and still need to read the last three as I have all 8 in my possession. But I will always love the first book, Outlander, the most. When I started the second book, Dragonfly in Amber, I put it down but really wanted to throw the book across the room. Thankfully I picked it back up and read through it. My other favorite of the book series is Voyager. But Outlander will always be the book and 1st season I will love the most.

I am going back and rewatching all episodes. I also have the subtitles on so I can understand what they're saying! lol I just wish they would have subtitles on when they're speaking in Scots Gaelic. angel_not.gif

Shadows, my sincere apologies for taking so long to get in here to see your photos. I really enjoyed them, especially the one of your dog. Such a beauty.

Our Mourning Doves look just like yours from what I can tell. I am always trying to photograph their nests. Unfortunately, they make really bad parents. cool.gif

Keep up the great work. Really nice shots.

I finally got in here!! I am so thrilled to be seeing my favorite books and characters come to life on screen. I subscribed to StARZ specifically to watch the Outlander series. So far I am very well pleased with how well it is being done.

I personally love the casting. Only person who did not fit my imaginary description in the books was Dougal. I pictured him looking more like Viggo Mortensen from Lord of the Rings. But then I can't have two men to drool over, eh? cool.gif Jamie is not who I had pictured either but I do love the Jamie they casted. So I am pretty happy.

Shadows, like you, I have LOVE the music and cannot wait for the soundtrack. The music plays in my head all the time. I am very anxious to get a hold of the music to listen to it all the time.

And I am sure it is not going to be perfectly scripted to a T with the books as there will be creative liberties. But since Diana is consulting I think I can deal with it. wink.gif

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Outlander-Firs...ok-1075059.aspx

Well I saw this photo on FB, too

Looking pretty good, eh?! Can hardly wait.

I don't particularly care for the Lord John Grey books, only because he has never been one of my favorite characters that stand out to me. Maybe the one with just he and Jamie. I forget the name of that book. I never also got the graphic novel. I wasn't impressed with it either.

I want a book on Dougal.
