Well, I knew there was a purpose for purchasing backup software!
Today, I made the unfortunate mistake of making some configuration changes which totally messed up the CelticRadio development computer. After trying a number of different tools from the XP recovery console, I determined the system was cooked.
Thank goodness that just this afternoon I made a full system backup using Norton Ghost.
Both our Radio Server and Development machine have an extra hard drive that a complete copy gets generated by Norton Ghost. To recover the machine, I simply booted to the Norton Ghost CD and selected the recovery images to restore the machine.
The drive images are 4.6 gigs in size, so the next step is to burn these to DVD for added backup protection.
SO, we have a good backup plan for our Windows machines. For our linux webserver we need to determine if there is something similiar to this. Right now we are using a combination of backup files, but not imaging software. Any recommendations?
