We've update some of the benefits of becoming a Celtic Radio founder!
Most of the changes focus on a newly designed "Founder's Only" control panel. We have reworked this section to contain all of the special features. It is a nicely designed, partly graphically menu system with a number of help files for web hosting.
The most exciting new features have to do with our new offering of over 3,000 Family Coat of Arms and Clan Badges for your personal Avatar on CelticRadio.net. We have automated the sign up process (from within the Founders Control Panel) and we are also including a brief Family History to go along with your selection of your Family Crest!
Current Founder members should update their Avatar settings from within the new control panel to take full advantage of these benefits.
Go raibh maith agat! for all that you do to make this site so GREAT!!

As I commonly do, I start out trying to make a simply new feature and it then turns into a full blown "other" project!
In the case of the new founder features of Family History and Heraldry, I quickly discovered that the database I was creating was something that I had planned to do all along - probably going back 5 years ago. Well, 48 hours later we now have a full family history database that in the end will contain 3,000+ family names and histories. The database is actually very unqiue, designed in a mult-dimensional manner that will allow cross references between Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English and variations of names. Not sure where this is going, but it could make for some interesting search features.
I am going to build the front-end of this family history machine over at Arms & Badges with a medieval type heraldry theme - but it will actually reside on our CelticRadio.net servers.
To answer the question above, the little X will appear as we are preparing the Clan Badge or Coat of Arms. Once we move it to the production server it will appear.
I don't have a crest... my irish last name is brady and it is nowhere to be found!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
I can definitely research any names not included and create the Coat of Arms. We have a special Heraldry gallery that allows us to create any Coat of Arms.
The only thing I would ask is to please email me the details as I may not get a chance to check the messages here all the time.
