Some good news for fans of RealAudio: Within a few days we will be releasing a customized web-based RealAudio player that uses the realone technology! In addition, our player will contain some useful 'quick-links' to some of the major sections on our site.

One of the most common questions we receive from our listeners concerns compatibility with RealAudio. So we are very pleased to offer this new service for our listeners with the hopes of improved listening experience.

Check back on our site within a few days for the official release!

If I may make an observation...

The RealOne player (Mac edition) sucks. I tried it, and despite all the tweaking I did, it made my computer freeze up. Windows Media Player is better than that pile of garbage, but iTunes smokes 'em both.

Bah, just give me mplayer or mpg123 and I'm happy. who needs a GUI to play the stream. GUI is nice for that totally killer playlist page, but just pull up a web browser for that one. the program playing the stream doesn't even need any console or desk space. smilie_tux.gif smile.gif BTW, is the page having problems today? I've been having prpblems with said playlist page all day today, that and the stream is skipping a bit... Couldn't connect to the broadband stream last night, which stank.

Blame last night on Mac, when he tweaks, sometimes we lose. But it's always better afterwards! Today, who knows? What else were you running at the same time?

Looks like we had some issues with our ISP today. Everything was slowing to a crawl which means our broadcast relay was probably getting chopped to hell.

Since we are not making any profit on the site or broadcast, we have been forced to use some inexpensive ISP's for our originating bandwidth. If there are any deviations in that bandwidth then it has a negative impact downstream.

Perhaps someday we can generate some revenue and be able to afford real bandwidth for the site. Until then, we depend on donations of $$$ and bandwidth which keeps us going.

Makes sense, let's say that if/when I could ever get a server online with a suitable link I'd love to be able to relay the stream and take some of the load, but right now I'm looking for a route to finance such hosting. If only I could, I probably would. I go ahead and mention this because there may be some out there already with the means who are willing to relay. . . maybe? Just a thought.
