Hurried, self-indulged.

Sudden vision, mind screams.

Can it be real?

Startled, mezmorized.

Again and again and again.

Dare I move?

Pace slows, anger.

Compassion, hate.

Love , life goes on.

Hurried, aware.

Shadows, I think you have a gift of saying what a lot of people feel in a very few words.

Thank you!
A single word can hold much power and meaning.

They say that great minds think alike, but some times my mind is just mediocre, I’m sure. You see, I along with many other artists, and architects from New Jersey, were invited by the State to submit a memorial design to commemorate that tragic day of 9/11. The memorial was to be located at New Jerseys Liberty State Park, which is situated directly across the Hudson River from ground zero. If you’ve never been there, it’s so close to ground zero, one feels as though you can actually reach out and touch it. Anyway, To get back to the great minds connection. The title of the memorial design I submitted was, “In the Shadow of the Towers”. It was simply two large slabs of gray granite, slowly rising out of a large grassy area, and slowly climbing for a distance of some one hundred and twenty feet, then finely collimating with two highly polished vertical black granite walls. Walls into which all the names of those lost that day were to be etched. If it were to be viewed from above it would appear to be shadows. How it wasn’t selected as the winning memorial design, or even a runner up, I’ll never know. I suspect, the word State, had something to do with it, because it seems that it’s always political, provincial fools, who control our destiny. I guess what I’m saying is, I couldn’t agree with your thoughts about 9/11 more.
