In response to this An Litir Bheag (³the little Letter²) will be broadcast on BBC Radio nan Gaidheal each week, beginning on Monday 2 May at 1900.
Great news Wizard. I didn't know about this and we don't have too long to wait either. I have a pocket sized mp3 player that holds about 60mb. I put Rory's letters onto it and take it everywhere i go. That way whenever i've got a spare moment i can listen to 'letter fo learners'. I get about 40 odd letters on it at a time. I've also put many of the letters onto CD so i can listen off-line at home.
Chaidh sinn dhan taigh-dhealbh a-raoir agus chunnaic sinn 'The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy' We went to the cinema last night and we saw Hitchhikers.....
Chan eil e dona It wasn't bad
Ach tha an leabhar nas fheàrr But the book's better

Hallo a Chù! Hello Cù!
Tha ceist bheag agam. I have a small question.
I have a CD burner on my computer and would LOVE to download some of the letters to CD. How do you go about doing that? Can you download them straight from the site to CD? Or can you save them to your computer first? I've never tried to do it straight from the BBC site.
Tapadh leibh airson all the help and the welcome back.
Tha i griannach is blath an-duigh. It is sunny and warm today.
I have been studying my Ghaidlig, but gosh! It is so hard for me to remember how to place things and where. Thanks for your patience and instructions, y'all.
Tha mi 'n dochas gu bheil latha math agaibh. I hope you all have a good day.
Create a new folder somewhere on your computer. I put it on the desktop usually as it's easier to find.
Go to the litir do luchd-ionnsachaidh page. Each of Rory's letters has the number of the letter, 'EIST' and MP3 beside it.
RIGHT click the mouse over 'MP3' & select 'SAVE TARGET AS' when the grey box appears. Navigate the explorer to you've found the folder that you created earlier then click 'SAVE'
After the download has finished the MP3 file of the selected letter should be in your new folder.
I'd download about 20 letters and when they're all in you're folder you can burn them
I use Nero, but you may have a different burner. Anyway i put about 20 on each CD in audio format. That way they'll play on any cd-player. But if you have a cd-player that plays mp3 files you'll get a lot more letters onto one disk by burning them on in mp3 format.

Ciamar a tha thu-fhèin an-diugh? How are you today?
Nach tu a tha ag ionnsachadh tòrr! What a lot you're learning
Tha mi a' smaoineachadh gu bheil thu a' dèanamh math dhà-rireabh. I think you're doing excellent
Cha toigh leam a' gearr an fheur! I don't like cutting the grass!
Tha mi a' smaoineachadh gum biodh e na b' fheàrr a sgriobhadh- I think it would be better to write-
Cha toigh leam a bhith a' geàrradh an fheòir After words like 'cutting', 'making', 'fixing', 'eating' etc. Any following definitive noun must go into the genitive. So you are literally saying 'cutting of the grass' - a' geàrradh an fheòir opening (of) the door - a' fosgladh an dorais Playing (of) the pipes - a' cluich na pioba
