Received an e-mail from Mikel aka Raven of the CR forums. His band, Arminta, named after his wife and lead singer, suffered a great loss. Someone, cut the lock on their equipment trailer and stole the trailer and $20,000+ in sound equipment. The police have no clues at this time.
If you would like to help out, even in a small way, go to CD Baby and purchase a few of the Arminta and Blaq Lily cd's:
There will be a new cd coming out in a few months.
Mikel is in a bit of a foul mood since and hasn't been on the forums lately. I'll try to get some updates from him and hopefully, they can recover the equipment.
grrrhhh, this is really awful news! I certainly hope that some, if not all, of their equipment can be recovered and I don't blame Raven for being in a foul mood! I would be as well! Thanks for the heads up A Shrule for ways we can help too! It really is true....Mean People Suck!
So sorry to hear about all of this, buddy! I'll keep you in my prayers for a quick resolution. Hang in there! And by the way, it sure is good to see you back posting again!

We can stay in Shrule for free and hang out in the Highway Pub next door and drink some Dew and Guinness til closing time. But now, I'm hearing that pubs in Ireland may be able to stay open 24 hours soon.
This is really terrible. I know you guys are alright and you have done alot of fundraisers from what I read in the past. It is a shame that there are people out there that would so blantently steal from somone.
Perhaps you might want to check ebay for your equipment. I have heard people stealing and owners finding their stuff on ebay!
I am keeping a closed eye on Ebay, plus we have notified every Music Store in a 5 county area and faxed our equipment list with serial numbers.
Also we have notified every police pawn unit with in a 5 state area and provided them with the same list.
Our insurance will for sure pay for the trailer itself, there may be an issue with the equipment because we are professional musicians, even though we do not use the lion's share of what was in the trailer to earn income.
Had we not just done a benefit with multipul bands that had some special needs all of the equipment would have fit in the category of none income earning.
I've pretty well emotionally let go of the equipment and written off getting anywhere close to the replacement value. (my father always said,"Keep your sights low and you'll never be disappointed." ) I still have high hopes for recovery of the gear regardless.
We just played at the JDRF walk for the cure at the IUPUI Michael J Carroll Track and Field Stadium and some of our local musician friends stepped up and provided the Sound for this show. No small feat as there were over 6000 people there and it was a lot of work for them.
Also as most of our paid shows and all of our big shows are sound provided, this theft has not crippled us.
