The stats are coming in and it shows that the people are demanding more than just top 40 music! Highlander Radio has set an all time record of 50,000 listening hours for the past 30 days (modem and broadband streams combined). That would be like 1 person listening to Highlander Radio non-stop (without sleep) for nearly 6 years!
Thanks to our dedicated listeners, our broadband stream is the 132nd most listened to radio station on shoutcast.com. That's out of nearly 5,000 stations!!! Our modem stream is #324. So, if we combine the 2 streams I am sure we are somewhere in the top 100 stations.
A big thank you for the donations (both financial and bandwidth) that keep our site and broadcast going!

A few months ago I was asked to complete a poll on Radio Stations that listened to for a week.
My poll showed that I listened to radio for 0 (zero) hours per week. That was before I found Celtic Radio. This is the only station I listen to and now I probably listen for 100 hours or more a week. Love this station, keep up the good work.
Here's to ya.

Ditto to Richard! Until I found Highlander Radio, I had given up on radio. Noone played anything that was that great and what was played had a few minutes of commercials and DJ chatter every 2-3 songs. Highlander Radio doesn't have that, which is part of what I love about it. I've started trying to think again on how I can finance getting a server hosted because of this. Right now I find myself wishing I could donate computing resources to helping Highlander Radio. Just a matter of figuring out how to finance rental of rack space and Bandwidth =) Building the box would be just a one time thing, not worried there.. Then there's the matter of all the stuff I might not know of... How many other people have gotten the idea that a relay point to take the load off of Paul's servers might be a good idea?
And no, I don't have a clue what is involed in this beyond hardware and software. I figure that if this ever became a practicality, then I'd learn that when the time came.
Thank you so much for all your hard work in making Highlander Radio the greatest community with wonderful Celtic music 24 hours a day!
All Hail Paul Macfive!

I would like to add my thanks for your internet radio broadcast. If it ever makes XM, I would buy the service just to get this station. In the meantime, it will have to suffice at home.
Celtic music has always stirred my soul! Thanks for keeping the music alive.
I have been listening to this station for at least the last eighteen months and it is amazing the continual improvements you bring to us.
You do realize where this is heading don't you? One day the Scottish bar thread and this one will be combined to form an
Annual Highlander Radio Highland Festival
so that all the people you have brought together through the music can meet and have a great time.
