I had to change a flat tire for the first time on my way to school for a 2nd Semester final. I was on the Bishop Ford Freeway (back then it was called the Calumet Expressway) in Chicago, just past the 103rd Street exit. Changing a tire for the first time on an expressway will make you an expert real fast.

Tell me about it. The only day I took Ange's Jeep to work, the tire blows on the Whitemud freeway. sad.gif

I've never even looked at a jack system like that, but learned REAL fast.

Friggin MOPAR. Can't they do anything normal?

I hate those censored.gif hand cranked knucklebusters!

I have asked for one of the normal jacks for several Christmases & birthdays now. Since I'm the one who does all the tire changing, you'd think they'd get it for me, but no.

I got a flat on the Baltimore / Washington Parkway at 11:30 at night when I was 8 months pregnant with my 2nd son. I drove the car the extra 1/2 mile to get it onto the exit ramp, then walked to the gas station and called AAA! No way I was attempting that at night. Normally, though, I carry a small floor jack in the trunk of my car. Those ones that they give you are worthless!

I had 3 flats this past week and ended up just buying new tires. Hopefully that is my quota of flats for the next year.
