Uh, I'm not exactly sure what to make of this.

Huh? Did they just say something about ironing being dangerous? Full of thrills? An extreme outdoor activity?

The sun was shining and Phil preferred the idea of an evening out pursuing his (somewhat unsuccessful) hobby of rock climbing. Then it occurred to him to combine these activities into an extreme sport - the result: extreme ironing. From there it was taken all over the country and when the website was launched it was taken up all over the world.

Folks, I don't believe I can type the words necessary to fully describe Extreme Ironing. I urge you to visit the site yourself.

Is this a huge hoax, or is it legit? I have no idea - I'll let you decide for yourselves.

And no generator or similar for a corded electric element.... I can see an extrteme dishwashing with a stiff penalty system for breakage and a marathon after Thanksgiving dinner.
