I have always heard it said,"That a man has to do what a man has to do" or something like that.
Have fun with it. biggrin.gif

I’ve heard that too Harlot, so if you’ll excuse me now. I have to go take out the garbage.

has John came back from taking out the garbage? where are you, John? unsure.gif

I don't get to do it very often but I like to light some candles, fill the tub and turn the jets on. Sit back and relax with a glass of wine and a historical romance while listening to Celtic music. To me that is heaven.
Sometimes its nice to just have the world go away for a little while.

I have to be outside. Either working in the garden or lying around working on the suntan. I really miss horseback riding also. It used to be you could get on a horse and ride all day. Not much land left anymore.

If I have time to myself I have to favorite ways to spend it.

One is to go outside and to take a long, long walk along the river, savoring the fresh air, watching the water flow and all the life in and near it. It gives me such a peaceful feeling to be surrounded by all the beauty Mother Earth is offering to us and to feel one with it.

But depending on my mood I also love to turn on soft music, llight some candles and lit some incense sticks, to grab a book and to leave the world outside for a little while.

Well no wonder her avatar is a little fuzzy. She was trying to be in 5, 250 places at one time. Way to go, girl. clap.gif

Why is it that we can take criticism from our "girl friends" but if our loved one mentions a little personal advice we get hurt.

I tell my husband that I am on a diet and he listens to me rant and rave over how unhappy I am with myself. But if he so much as says "I don't think you really need that" when I am eating, I practically take his head off.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

O.K. I give up. Why is it when things are going steady, something comes up and bites you in the backside? The washer, dryer and stove all just died at the same time. I almost had a heart attack when I started looking at new ones. They are a lot more expensive than they were 13 years ago when I bought these. sad.gif

valpal, I hope you've recovered from your heart attack. biggrin.gif It's ridiculous what appliances cost now. My daughter just purchased a washer and dryer and the cost was a little over $2,400. Maybe you can catch them on sale and save a few bucks.

flora, my hubby is always telling me, "You don't need to diet" and then turns around and tells me, "I think you've put on a few pounds"! I used to have no problem losing weight but since this deadly thing called m e n o p a u s e started I am really having a hard time keeping the weight off! Men, can't live with them and can't live without them...

Oh valpal, I am so sorry you have had this test. They say bad luck runs in threes. You are good for the year. laugh.gif But look on the bright side, with today's economy, you should be able to find really great deals out there.

Don't rule out the scratch and dents deals either. I have had several appliances with little scratches, but they still had the warrenty to them. Great knockoff on the prices.

Maggie let me guess. He is just like my husband and hasn't had any problem with weight. disgust.gif

My husband and I were just watching a program called MonsterQuest. It was centered on spiders. They were searching for a camel spider in the West of the US. I have seen the picture of the camel spider from Iraq.

I can face down snakes, but I CANNOT tolerate large spiders. And in Florida we have large spiders.

What sayest thou my friends?

Maggie, Yes I have recovered from the heart attack. wink.gif I spent a little more than I wanted to, but hopefully they will all last at least as long as the old ones did.

Flora, I like the way you think. Hopefully things will be good for the year. (fingers crossed) I am so lucky hubby never says anything about my weight. I have fought it all of my life. Sometimes I think genetics play a part in it. If it does, I'm fighting a losing battle.

As far as snakes and spiders, I do not do snakes. The only good snake is a dead snake. scared.gif I can deal with spiders as long as I can see them.

O.K. It's my turn for a heart attack.

I went to take the garbage out (where's that husband when you need him) and lifted the top of the container. Down in the bottom was a snake. A young corn snake I believe. With my attention on him or her, I did not notice the HAIRY spider next to my hand. There's that hair issue again! Forget the poor snake. I did not like that spider with all those eyes and hair. Well, I going back with ammo this time. tomcat.gif

do you girls remember this song by Jim Stafford? When flora brought up the subject of spiders and snakes this song came to mind....It's amazing what a person can hear and a song comes to mind! note.gif

note.gif I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
You fool, you fool
I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I wanna be loved by you note.gif

I'd rather see a spider than a snake!
