I have relatives who live in Minnesota (Twin Cities area), and I could just hear my cousin Emily saying that. They sound funny to me. I suppose with my Chicago accent I sound just as funny to them.

That old "SuperFans" skit on Saturday Night Live nailed Chicagoans perfectly. It probably doesn't hurt that when Lorne Michaels is recruiting new talent, the first place he comes is to Chicago's Second City improv theater.

May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

I also have relatives in the twin cities area, MPLS, brooklyn center. I remember when I moved up there being a native of the west they thought I had the neatest accent. When ever I get around them it doesn't take long and I start talking like that. Funny. Kind of that way with the Irish. smile.gif

My cousin Pete went to college at Harvard. He said that when he'd come home, he could definitely hear the difference between Minnesota and Boston.
