Although Michigan weather has been quite the contrary lately...Summer is quickly approaching.
What's everyone doing for their summer?
Anyone planning on seeing any Celtic Bands or Solo Acts this summer?
How about Highland Games or Irish festivals?

Cheers,

There are lots of folk weekends in Scotland which start in May. A number of my friends are professional musicians, and I try to get to as many gigs as I can to show support!

Here's a site which has something for every type of musical taste

I will be attending the World Piping championships which are held on Glasgow Green in August.

My daughter goes to T in the Park every year. Here's this year's line up

I go to a couple of Gatherings each summer.

Well, it's our winter, but there's plenty going on in Australia ...

There's the MacLean Celtic music festival, and we're trying to get Brisbane's second annual Celtic Music festival off the ground (the first one was huge but lost money). don't have any URLs, unfortunately, but if anyone's Down Under, they're good value ...

I am hoping to get to the Fun Fest in Michigan this summer..
It's a huge Hammered Dulcimer Festival..
with lots of workshops, and some teachers I would love to learn from ..

Also the makers of my HD live there..
and I would love to speak to them about adding more carving..

Does that count smile.gif

I'm hoping to break away in September to go to Toronto to catch Andy M. Stewart. As for any other Celtic acts, I always catch bits and pieces at the festivals that we set up at but usually can't break away for too long.

As for non-Celtic acts, my wife and I saw http://www.reverendhortonheat.com/ last night at Ottawa's Tulip Festival. "Enter the Haggis" is playing there tonight but I don't think that we will be able to get a babysitter again tonight.

We are hoping to get out to the Ottawa Blues Festival this summer to catch Jimmy Vaughn and also the Tragically Hip but we'll see what time allows.

Lucky you, Silverdragon! I love Long Beach! when I lived in the L.A. area, I used to get off from work and drive to Long Beach and just sit there by the ocean! It was all too wonderful...............I love the ocean!

I'M SO EXCITED! I just found out that Enter the Haggis is coming back to the Radford Highlander Festival on October 9! I can't wait! Here's more info for anyone who might be interested in attending!

Yeah, I know October is still a long way off, but you can't blame me for getting excited, can you? wink.gif

Well, I had to cancel my reservations today to see the Wicked Tinkers due to my husband's surgery. He just will not be ready to travel by then. Oh well. I have two of their CDs I can listen to.

Unfortunately there isn't anything that I can go to because of my jobs and classes. I want to go to the ohio scottish games, but can't. I was really close to seeing VanHalen in concert. I know that's not celtic but hey I wanted to go. I didn't though. It's today and I don't get paid until tomarrow. *sigh* I think I might live...tomarrow.

The Tannahill Weavers are playing in Chapel Hill in October. That will probably be my next live concert. This summer is just too busy.
