Soon I will see an artisan who do sword and medieval weapon.Since a year I wish to have a more beautiful sword with a personnal style. It's important when you do demonstration to not have cheap and ugly weapon. My sword will have horses on the base, celtic horses.I wish to have an inscription on the blade , in gaelic it will me more impressive. So is it posible to have a translation, please, please, please.

I protect the owner of the sword, giving strength, courage and ability for combat to fight ennemy.

It will be nice to have a sword like that ,everyone will look at my sword.

Most of us here only speak a little conversational Gaidhlig Nancy. The best translation i could do was:-
Tha mi a' cur dìon-falaich air neach-seilbh a' chlaidheimh a' toirt trèine, cridhe agus comas airson sabaid an nàmhaid
Although i hasten to add it would be better to wait & see if someone can come up with a better one. Perhaps Faileas (who lives on the isle of Skye) or someone else can help you better than i could.

Halò mo charaid!

I would have this inscription on a sword if I had one!

"Na tarraing mi gun adhbhar, 's na pill mi gun chliu."
Neither draw me without cause, nor return me without honour.

If you ever needed a Gàidhlig dictionary

If you think you can hold me down
I beg to differ
If you think you can twist my words
I'll sing forever

Tha gach uile dhuine air a bhreth saor agus co-ionnan ann an urram 's ann an còirichean. Tha iad air am breth le reusan is le cogais agus mar sin bu chòir dhaibh a bhith beò nam measg fhein ann an spiorad bràthaireil

If you think you can hold me down
I beg to differ
If you think you can twist my words
I'll sing forever

And I would go for Cù Dubh's translation without even doubt it could possible be wrong - he's an excellent Gaelic speaker!
