Celtic Radio Community > General Discussion > Scotland is wonderful!

What an absolutely wonderful country!! I had the time of my life.  The weather was much better than I expected ... in fact everything was more than I expected.  Coming back to 90 degree, humid heat has taken a toll on me.  I have been so sleepy!!.  I hope to be working on my site when I get back to the office on Tuesday.  My granddaughters have been here swimming every day so I haven't gotten "involved" with the pictures, etc.

One warning:  If you go to Scotland once...you will have to go back.  I am already planning on July 2003!!!

I am glad you had a wonderful time and arrived home safe and sound.  I guess you will have to rest from your vacation!  I'll be looking forward to the pictures.

Aon, I'm glad you're back, missed you.  I'm glad you're doing better.  It can only get better.

I'm not really over it yet but I think I made it clear to myself that I could not help her.
I had a long weekend which I spent thinking about it. I turned it and twisted it and now I think I can deal with it better than before.
But it still hurts.

Oh I'm glad for your trip to Scotland! It has ALWAYS been a dream of mine to go over there, especially since my ancestors are from there.

One day I will make it there!

Shortbit, I am glad you had a great time in Scotland! I want to go to your website and view all of the pics - I hope you took lots of photos of the "native clothing"  ;)

I suffered a major computer systems crash a couple of weeks ago - systems shut down one by one over a series of weeks until absolutely nothing worked! I could not even run a systems check for virus. So I lost basically everything in the computer.

But I am BAAAAACK now, and just as sassy as ever! ::hello

Belated Welcome Back Shortbit!!!

So glad that you enjoyed Scotland so much! Really looking forward to the day somewhere far off when I can visit.

I'm back now, too! ;) and I will go on being annoying and starting stupid discussions! :p (I hope I am the opposite of annoying....)

I know Scotland is wonderful and I really plan to go soon again. Have you been to Fife? Have you made a tour at the Forth Bridge??
There was a Guide who I made a tour with on my first trip and he was telling interesting stories to a group of American Tourists *hehe*
About the works on the Bridge. One of the workers fell into one of those huge steel tubes and they gave him a cheese bread with Arsen because they couldn't ge him out again... *hehe* Humbug! Nobody fell into those tubes... but a nice story...
Perhaps I'm going there again in August...

I'm glad that you had lots of fun in scotland. Scotland sounds like a beutiful place! In 2 or 3 yrs my highland dance school and I are hoping to raise enough money to go! I am new at this , its very fun!  :D Hope to talk to you again sometime! bye

I am told that roundtrip airfare from Scotland to the USA is going to be less than $300 in January! Perhaps we should be helping some of our overseas friends make the trip here to visit us?

I was wondering what a gathering of all of the Highlander Radio Forum members would actually look like, if we could all get together somehow and meet one another face to face? I hear there are other groups who have had big "reunions" of sorts like this - I think it would be awesome!

OOOWEE! That sounds like fun.  It would be nice to meet everyone face to face.  Maybe one day, in the not so distant future.

I'm glad your back with us, free2Bme

I am sooooooo happy to be back Maggie! We could have a very huge Highlander Radio Forum Party - the largest Ceiligh (sp?) ever!  We could book a hotel during its "off season" perhaps, complete with a banquet hall for the party! Serve up lots and lots of Scottish foods, drinks, music, with tons of fun for everyone! Paul could provide the music, and maybe everyone could have a Highlander Radio T-shirt, Ball cap, or Mug to commemorate the event! We have members all around the world - wouldnt it be great to meet them all!!!

Only from Scotland?? :(
I plan to visit my auntie and cousins in Canada soon. Perhaps I'll make a roundtrip thru USA, too.
But first I need money.... as everyone does. And I'll never get enough when I only spend it on flights to Scotland... ;)

Posted by: free2Bme 06-Jul-2002, 03:53 PM
Aon, perhaps you should look at flights through Orbitz, etc. and see if you can find any low fares from Germany! We would all love to meet you and give you a big, heart felt, and well deserved hug! You have been through it all this year, haven't you?

I am presently living in Florida - which is completely opposite shores of USA from Canada. I understand that many of our membership live along the eastern United States. For a successful internet party we will want to pick someplace that is Centrally Located - Perhaps North Carolina or Virginia?

Use my email here on this board if you think this is a good idea or not - it is only an idea, but the more I sit here and think about it, the better the idea sounds! Paul could broadcast announcements about it on the radio station!

I will try to make it to the chat tonight - but my sister wants to go out for dinner this evening and I am trying to catch up on lost time with my family.   Know that i'll be with you in spirit...

I'd love to get to know you all in real life and I'll try to search a chep flight but still there is that money problem. I just can't find a job ::confused
