Great photie!  cool.gif

Thanks Catriona biggrin.gif The Dupplin cross now stands in St Serf's Church in Dunning, Perthshire. It was carved in the 9th or 10 century, It symbolises the new unified kingdom of the Scots and the Picts. Cheerio the noo fae Tam

Speaking of crosses...

Here's a pic I found on the Internet of one I've always liked. Those of you who've seen John Carpenter's Vampires know what I am talking about. For those of you who haven't seen the movie, here's a brief synopsis:

Jack Crow (James Woods) and Tony Montoya (Daniel Baldwin) lead a team of vampire hunters, hired by the Vatican. After their entire team is wiped out by the vampire Valek (Thomas Ian Grffith), acting on a tip by double-crosser Cardinal Alba (Maximillian Schell). They learn from their new compatriot, Cardinal Alba's ex-aide Father Adam Guiteau (Tim Guinee), that Valek was, back in medeval times, a Catholic priest who was accidentally turned into a vampire during an exorcism, and that he is searching for a cross which was used at the exorcism so the ritual can be completed and he will be able to walk in daylight.

The cross pictured is called the Berziers Cross, referring to the name of the town in which the original exorcism was performed.

You're welcome Paul, glad you liked it. I was in the lucky position when I was employed on Dupplin Estate to touch that cross when it stood on the original site in the middle of a field. biggrin.gif
