Breaking News on Fox.

Armed malitias are now headed for the mexican border. There were no details yet.

I am willing to buy more fence myself if that option is available. This time it must be electrified though.

There was an Az. malitia under bush which protected some of the ranches at the border and they arranged for citizens to sponsor a border fence. I bought 18 feet at no small cost and the illegal a$$ holes tore it down. Bush being the looser that he was forced them to shut down.

My greatest concern will be if the malitia operates in Phoenix or Scottsdale.

It's very frustrating for those ranchers. No one who has been born and raised a rancher in AZ wants a fence or militia or military in their backyards.

But they have come to understand that it is a stand they must make lest we lose more valuable land.

I've lost my faith in our leaders and I know that actions speak louder than words. With that said, none of our leaders have truly cared about the border ranchers. If they did...they would've done something long ago. But perhaps the most appauling is Janet Napolitano. She's a traitor...she knows what's going on and has gotten to the ivory towers and left her people eating the rubble.

I no longer do it for others but I am getting a lot of requests to reload ammunition. Also new firearm sales are up again. I noticed there is no ammunition on the shelves at the local farm store indicating there has been a run on that again.

Though malitias are not part of the Tea Party movement, like our movement they could grow! If one of the malitia gets killed, all of h#ll may break loose.

Obama is just posturing as if he really had any intent to help mexicans, he would have done so. All talk and no substance.

It is spelled with an "i" as in Military....not an "a"...

I find it spelled both ways and CR spellcheck accepted it.

If you have nothing more than that to offer, I am glad you appear to agree with the malitia's action!

I extend my thanks

I think we are all to blame for this state of affairs in that we have failed to have our representatives in congress pass immigration reform for many years. It has been one of those out of sight out of mind issues for most of the nation. It is similar to the off shore drilling fiasco and the resultant devastation to the Gulf coast states. Most of the nation doesn't live or visit there, so we don't tend to make these things priorities until a crisis hits. It is more important to us to have cheap food and cheap fuel, or to make a lot of money in those industries. It is not so important to pay attention to the collateral damage we may cause by it. Sure, if something is brought up about the dangers of oil spills or the negative impact of illegal entry into this country, we are glad to share opinions. Opinions are easy to have and don't appear to cost us anything. But we eventually move on to something else, driving gas guzzling vehicles while eating bags of Cheetos.

Our current ability to have instant, ongoing, 24/7, news and social networking has a lot to do with causing us to have our noses rubbed in things that we used to be able to ignore long enough to go away. It is getting more difficult to do this now. I hope that we get past the blame game, which was an effective way to make something go away in the past by distracting us from having to solve the issue, and move towards working together to figure out solutions and support efforts to solve problems. While I am not a fan of the AZ immigration law because of constitutional issues, I certainly give the law makers credit for trying to do something. The same with the militia.

And Patch, there is a word spelled malitia but it means evil as in malicious, or is also the name of a porn star.

I agree Wdorholt. I didn't realize the border problem was that bad until I lived in Arizona and made a visit to a friend near Nogales. I couldn't believe my eyes.

It is DEFINITELY years of presidential administrations - as many Arizonans will tell you. It's the 24-7 news as you said, and the fevered pitch by which the cartels are now running their businesses that have all culminated into this firey debate. Bullets hitting the El Paso's city hall is just another example.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil. So we must all start squeaking! In regards to your comment about the oil disaster...I'm disgusted as well with all the previous administrations plus this one. Fox reported on the story about the thousands of wells that have been left unattended...Newser put an article out yesterday...

QUOTE

...The scope of the problem gets deeper—and murkier: some 3,500 of the wells are classified as "temporarily abandoned," meaning they aren't required to be sealed as stringently, though about 1,000 of those haven't been touched in at least a decade. Capped wells routinely fail on land, the AP notes, and the EPA admitted as the AP report went to press that it had dealt with underwater failed wells. But when pressed, the Interior Department had no answer as to why it didn't inspect these wells...

As citizens, we had the right to know about these wells and the shoddy regulatory practices of the MMS. Again this is why it is imperative to vote out all knuckleheads regardless of the "R" or "D" behind their names. We need to start protecting this country ourselves.

Agreed. The law is there! There is no will within the administration or the D party to pass anything on immigration now and after the election it will die! Obama is after votes and that base is angry. they are tired of words.

wdorholt

Malitias may call themselves just that because of the description. I wouldn't know as I wouldn't know about the porn star. I do not watch pornography. I do not feel some things are spectator sports.

When the Az malitia patrolled private land the illegals moved to public land including a nationl park for their route here.

Now that drug lords are providing armed protection and money to illegals who are willing to carry between 30 and 80 pounds of drugs on their backs when they enter it is likely that more people will be killed. That will bring troops for certain but will they they protect the drug traffic?

That also makes these illegals major criminals. Drug smugglers first and illegal aliens second.

It appears that the govt is then a silent partner with the drug lords of mexico by ignoring the problem.

Careful there, Shadows -- when I make observations like this I get labeled an "elitist". Except that even the word "elitist" tends to be spelled wrong. . . unsure.gif

But since I have a nominally decent education and I'm going to be tarred with the elitist (and liberal) brush unless I get a damned lobotomy, here it is. "Malitia" is in fact a word that is used in English -- a rather obscure word, but a word. The word "malice" comes from it. That is why the context-insensitive and uncritical spell checker lets it pass. But it is not a variant of or substitute for "militia," and it does not derive from the same root; it's just a misspelling based on hearing rather than seeing the word. What stumps me is why someone who spends so much time looking things up to fling around as evidence of the apocalypse can keep missing what such an important word in his own vocabulary simply LOOKS like.

Latin Etymology of "malitia":

Noun: From malus (“‘bad, evil’”).

malitia (genitive malitiae); f, first declension

1. a bad quality; badness, wickedness
2. spite, malice; an act of malice
3. cunning, artfulness with intent to deceive

Pointing this out and not addressing the rest of the ridiculous premises in this thread does not, for the record, indicate that I endorse or agree with the rest of said content in any way whatsoever, including by omission:

"I find it spelled both ways and CR spellcheck accepted it.

If you have nothing more than that to offer, I am glad you appear to agree with the malitia's action!

I extend my thanks"

That's about as lame a defense of being wrong, being proved wrong, and insisting on remaining wrong as I have ever heard. smile.gif

Maybe its the same reason why he doesn't change his spelling even after being corrected (see his last post this thread). Must not care. Often one is not considered an elitist because they know what's correct, they're considered one because they care about it.

Not caring is maybe on the order of a misdemeanor. Not being able to accept or admit being simply and concretely wrong is on the felony level. sad.gif

These posts are of no concern to me. If you want to teach school start a forum for it. These topics and posts are not the place

As for your decuction. My source uses it interchangably so your opinion does not really concern me. I see it just as an attempt by the radical left to belittle someone. We have addressed the issue of spelling here several times and decided it does not matter. I guess of late they have little other recourse. Look for that spelling in the future. I know when the left resorts to nit picking spelling and grammar, they have no more viable arguments and the right has won.

That would be something to remember!

Maybe you might want to start an "elitist" forum too. There you could share elitist ideas.

Is being an elitist a form of racisim? The dictionary description would indicate so.
