High in town is $4.399 lowest in town is $4.359, regular gas

Diesel Lowest is $4.999 , Highest is $5.099

In Ireland in May this year I paid a low of 1.23 euro = $1.96 USD per liter
and a high of 1.28 euro = $2.04 USD per liter.

Average $2.00USD per liter . 3.784 liters per gallon = $7.56 per gallon average in Ireland.

Car, 4 door Kia Rio, not bad, plenty of room, automatic. I drove 1,221 km = 1 kilometer = 0.621371192 miles = 759 miles driven. Averaged 35 miles to the gallon, no real highways per se.

Lots of fun per km/ltr/$,

Here, not so much fun per gal/mile/$. sad.gif

You mentioned 2 different prices at 2 differnet locations. Here in CT , we have "Zone" pricing. At the zone borders you can have a significant price difference from 2 stations of the same franchise. Also those close to the MA border with CT benefit from lower MA taxes and different zone, to the tune of a major price difference.

The State of CT has now made cash discounting possible. Of course they have to make all kinds of regulations to govern how you market the price differences. It must be clearly understood from a distance of 100 feet traveling at 40 miles per hour for the average consumer to distinquish the price difference between credit and cash.

Many franchise gas stations have a clause that forbids them from offering a cash discount. All of the gas producers have their own credit cards, hence the clause. I believe that policy is now illegal in CT within your franchise agreement..
