Have any of you ever heard of a chain of electronic stores called Fry's? Looking at their website, they're primarily based on the West Coast. They're opening their first store in the Midwest soon in one of the suburbs of Chicago. I went there today to apply for a job, and tomorrow I have an interview.

Keep your fingers crossed. I could use some good news.

Mike, Best of Luck! Wish you could use us folk as references, cause we are all big fans!

*aside* (when you get the job, be sure to give Paul a discount on servers! As fast as this place is growing, he is going to need it!)

Knock 'em dead MDF!

They are a deep discount, dealing mostly with factory blems, reconditioned, floor samples etc. They have been in Los Angeles as long as I can remember so they must be doing something right to survive out there.
Good Luck king.gif

Wishing you the best of luck Mike on your interview! Keep us posted. here in Arizona we have Fry's Supermarkets..........I think they were originally Krogers. I am not familiar with the other Frys you are interviewing for.

This is an example of what not to do on this forum.

Wow, here is another example of what not to do on this forum.

Listen up, mindless posts in response to a real topic will be greeted with a little parental moderation. Poor Peckery needs to have his posts approved now before they will show in the forum. So, if we need to do a little hold handing we will.

I hope that all of these posts are not just for the sake of increasing onces post count.

Just a little information. We are able to moderate your posts, we are able to ban your membership, we are able to completely ban you from celticradio.net. All it takes is your IP address. Sure, your IP may change, but not all of it. We can band your whole ISP if need be. We also can do other tracking things in protection of our members which I care not to mention here.

I might be coming across a little strong, but I am getting a little fed up with some of the posts and then hearing back from other members. 99% of the members on this board are doing fine and please don't take this message towards you.

I'd like to offer my apologizes to Mike for interfering in his post and to also wish him the best of luck on his job interview!

Posted by: WizardofOwls 08-Jun-2004, 09:57 AM
Okay Mike!

Its been three days since the interview! Quit holding out on us bud! How'd the interview go? We're all pulling for ya, ya know!

Mike,

The waiting can be tough, but keep good thoughts and know that we are all keeping our fingers crossed for you. smile.gif

I know how it feels, brother. The waiting can be tough. I will absolutely keep my fingers crossed for you.

Posted by: Annabelle 09-Jun-2004, 07:16 AM
Mikey, make sure you do a follow up phone call. I know it's been a couple of days since the interview and follow up calls are almost as important as the interview.
Good luck on the job!

Yes, this is off topic, but censorship? Is that really the message you want to be sending? Come on, man. You know I've got loads of respect for everything you're doing here, but I just don't agree. I find it pointless to leave a forum, but if I were being censored, that's precisely what I'd do. And that's saying a lot.

So Mike, did you make that follow up call? smile.gif

Way to go Mike!!! Interviewing is never fun. Here's to hoping you land this one and don't have to interview again for a long, long time. thumbs_up.gif

Ok, back on topic: I understand all too well the stress of applying and interviewing for jobs. I do contract or "temp" work. I am unemployed several times per year. I got used to the uncertainty. My wife still gets nervous. My next round is now. My current contract ends June 30 and I am currently hustling on the internet. The challange is to find my kind of project locally so I don't have to travel or move ( I LIKE Chicago). smile.gif Good luck, Mike!

Posted by: CelticRose 10-Jun-2004, 04:43 PM
Well, very good luck to you too, Maisky! smile.gif

we own a business but we have our seasons where it does really well and then things slow down greatly. Can understand all those of you going through times like that and job changes too.

First of all, best of luck to you my cyber brother. king.gif

Secondly, it was a play on words. Fry's Electronics, French Fries.
Today I posted another word play in " what is your favorite kind of weather"
I posted "Weather or Knot." I don't know what came over me. I will seek help. I will never do it again. I meant no harm to anyone, and it was said with no malice, only a king.gif in my heart.
If you find it necessary to punish me for this transgression, only know that I meant no harm.

Go Mike GO!

I just applied online to the Best Buy in Merrillville, Indiana. I did that for three reasons: 1. Best Buy is one of my favorite retail stores, 2. Indiana is a "right to work" state. Illinois is a "work at will" state, and 3. I'd like to move to Northwest Indiana some day. Compared to Cook County (IL), the cost of living in Northwest Indiana is much less.

Posted by: CelticRose 12-Jun-2004, 07:41 PM
Mike! I have a friend who moved to Indiana and absolutely loves it there! Wow! Wouldn't that be neat if you could get this job? I love Best Buy too! However, luckily I live an hour from one or I would be in there all the time spending money! Much luck, finger crossing and prayers sent your way! And keep us posted!
