This is defiantly me. However, growing up in New Jersey, my wife says my yankee accent really comes out when we're visiting there. Canadians I work with say they hear Atlantic Canada twang in my pronunciations as well.

I was born in California, but my mother was born and raised in the south. My dad was born in Michigan. Most folks who hear me talk say I have a wee bit of southern accent...go figure!

One thing that I know people look at me funny when I say is Kitty Cornered. I don't know if it comes from New England (where I was born) but it definitely isn't from down South! I've lived in the South since 1962 so I certainly should talk like I'm from Dixie. :-)

50% General

20% Dixie--Hey, I grew up in and lived in the South most of my life--this should be higher.

10% each Upper Midwestern and Yankee--where the heck did these come from?? I have never even been in the Upper Midwest--maybe my secretary is rubbing off on me--she's from Wisconsin. I knew I had some Yankee contaminationn from living up North and out West for a while

You must have MidWestern contacts. I had never heard the term bubbler until my office manager, who is from Wisconsin, used it and explained it to me.
