Thanks for the link. I went there and had my question answered, but it left me with many others.  It is a cool myth.

I had a friend (he has since passed from this world) who swore he actually saw the Green Man during a trek through deep woodlands once.  Left a very strong impression on him.

Only that he was *not* on any kind of drugs :D and that he had been hiking much of the day.  He came to a very deep part of the wood where he'd been following a game trail and he felt a presence.  He turned his head and saw a face in the leaves.  A blink later, it was gone.  He said it left him with the most awesome feeling though.

He didn't tell you any more about the green man. His powers? What a person has to do for a visit? Was there a sound, to cause him to turn his head. Was it kind of like seeing a ghost?

He didn't talk about powers when he related the story, but then as a Pagan, I already know the stories of the Green Man and what he symbolizes.  He only said that he had a feeling of being watched, but it wasn't malevolent, just curious.  It was gone before he knew it.  I think it was mere accident that it happened.  He didn't do anything special to find him.  He just appeared, like seeing a face formed out of the leaves.

This is mainly on the subject.

Here is a link to a pic of the Green Man card in the Sacred Circle Tarot.  You all may find it interesting.

I had never even heard of the green man before... but thanx for the info.

btw: Maibh, is that you on the avatar? I love the dress. I got a similar one, with a nice lace up corset fitting to it.
