All 3 options for listening to the radio stations are not working on my machine, I am using Firefox browser. This started several months ago.
What is the problem?

Hi Shadows,

I have tested all 3 ways of listening this morning and the streams are up and running. It seems that something is blocking your listening. Can you try installing microsoft edge and see if you can tune in. Make sure to add celticradio.net as a trusted site in your browser.

Refuse to use Microsoft edge!
It went from one day of listening til the next day nothing.
I have no trouble with the videos working and CRnet is in my trusted list.
It happened suddenly.

Now can not even listen using the app on my phone, I give up!

This is most unusual Shadows. I am hoping that service has returned to your devices. Can confirm that the broadcasts remain online and streaming through the website and app. I wonder if there is somesort of block enabled by your internet provider.

Keep us updated if this changes at all if you get access back and my apologies.

Thanks for checking Paul but still no access anywhere. My phone provider and my internet provider are different so I don't think that is it. Will keep trying but as of today 9/2721 still nothing.

OK I don't know why but if I turn on my VPN and connect to a sever in Canada it works on my home computer but not my cell phone.
Guess there must be a block of some kind without my VPN.
Problem solved for now.

I have been listening to Highlander radio through my Alexa Dot devices and in the past couple weeks I have been listening to A Celtic Christmas on them as well. For some reason A Celtic Christmas is no longer available on my devices. Do you know if it is because it has stopped being offered on Tune in or is there a new magic phrase I need to use?

"Alexa. Play Highlander Radio from Tunin" still works but replacing "Highlander Radio" with "A Celtic Christmas" and my Alexa device "cannot" play it.

Any suggestions to get it working again would be much appreciated!

Shadows that is very interesting about using the VPN to connect. That would indicate that somewhere between your provider and Toronto (where our broadcasts originate from) there is somesort of problem. If VPN work then would suggest that - although you might occasionally try it without it and see if they removed whatever block there is. Sometimes IPs can get blocked for no reason or maybe it was previously owned by some bad player and it takes time to be removed from a blacklist.

McRoach, I have a solution for you on the Alexa devices. Luckily all of our channels are listed on TuneIn.com and we keep them updated with our location - however - they are no longer accepting new stations so we are lucky to be included.

Try this for Alexa "Hey Alexa - play Celtic Christmas from Tune In Dot Come"

That worked for me, I had to drop the "A".....

Let me know how you make out!

It started working again the next day so maybe it was just a one-off issue but I will try adding the "dot com" at the end if I have any further issues.

Thanks for the quick reply and for making sure we can continue to enjoy the great music this holiday season!

We've increased our Celtic Christmas channel to 250 listeners so there will be listening slots available for all and can increase more if need be.

We should be adding some new Celtic Christmas music soon got some late submissions from several artists.

Thanks for the kind comments and glad everyone likes this channel! biggrin.gif

New Computer doesn't seem to want to play games in the Penny arcade. Do I need some sort of emulator or does the arcade need updating? Currently running Windows 11.

New Computer doesn't seem to want to play games in the Penny arcade. Do I need some sort of emulator or does the arcade need updating? Currently running Windows 11.

Since Flash support basically ended a year ago and both operating systems and browsers removed access to Flash both our Penny Arcade and our Chat room ceased functioning on that date.

We are using a Flash Emulator that is being constantly upgraded. It is an open source project I believe and I note it does not state Windows 11 - but I would imagine they will support it in the future:

https://ruffle.rs/

There are three versions of ActionScript and both 1 and 2 are 85% and 50% completed. The third verion is only 10% completed and for the ActionScript 3 API only 5% completed.

Game do function, you might have to wait a little bit for them to work but they do eventually load up. We hope when they complete this emulator completely our flash chat room and bot will start to function again!
