nice smile.gif See, what you do is, you make it a 300 page letter smile.gif Then there's no room for complaint. Except they may not like the format you use when submitting the manuscript...
But if you argue too much, maybe you can contact some other European connection...

Yeah, I was thinking about Franz in Munich. He might be retired though, I don't know. wink.gif

QUOTE (Aaediwen @ 15-Jul-2005, 08:55 PM)
Haldur: You forgot to mention they should set a buzzer to go off in their ear at the end of the 10 minutes.  Nothing like a first draft with a big mark all the way across the page from the buzzer going off. smile.gif

Not that I know anyone who jumped out of their skin and left such a mark... twice!  I think I will start posting some of the prompts from Writer's Digest here as well.

lol.gif
Oh, that's priceless. The mark down the page would be nothing compared to the warm puddle under the --
never mind.

This is such a nice forum to find, and so unexpected! Don't know why I'm only just looking in here now.

CelticCoalition, I like that piece a lot. It's so sensory -- especially tactile. And brave too, in the 1st person (I find that the very hardest to do.)

I'm an admin at an adult Harry Potter commentary site. We have this exercise we started called "If these things could speak," that was created to work on exactly that "first person" challenge. (Also to get away from the typical fanfiction drill.) They were monologues by inanimate objects from the books. I love that strict (yet within strict, boundless) feeling you can get with a controlled form or subject, then the infinite ways you can make it express.

Thank you for your input on my little story.

I think that the inanimate object exercise sounds interesting. I might have to try writing a quick little bit on that.

May those who love us love us
And those who don't love us
May God turn their hearts,
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.

I like the "if these things could speak" thing! Might have to try that. wink.gif
