Hey all! Just wondering if anyone had any tips or hints on creating a home recording studio! I am a musician anxious to get back into recording, as I have done some home recording before. I have some gear in mind, most of it from www.musiciansfriend.com but am really unsure if those are the best deals or not. I'm looking at an Alesis mixer, DigiTech vocal processor, Shure condenser mic, and a couple of accessories (mic stands, headphones, etc.) In the process I figure that my PC also needs to be upgraded so any helpful tips on that would be much appreciated!

If anybody has an comments feel free to post here or email me at [email protected] or [email protected]!

Gotta go to bed...tomorrow morning comes too fast sometimes!

Yeah, I've been sick the past few days...just getting on here tonight to lift my spirits and listen to some great music! Hope to get rid of this cold and sore throat before I head back to work on Wednesday.

Here are some items that I am considering purchasing from Musician's Friend (www.musiciansfriend.com)...keep in mind that I'm not buying all these items at once, but perhaps around $1000 worth of them in some combination or another! All of these items shall one day contribute to my recording studio, a pipe dream I've been chasing for quite some time now.

I have a feeling I can do without the amps for now as I can plug the guitar and bass straight into the mixer, run it through my PC, and record onto Cool Edit Pro (a good recording software).

You'd buy the violin without having tested it out first? Do you know what model it is? Who it was made by? Good luck with that though!
