Well OK... Hello...My name is J (short for jabberwocky)
I live in Ohio, though I am a transplanted southern boy. I have a wife, two boys, a dog, (and a partridge in a pear tree). I have a great love for all kinds of music, but have recently been very drawn to Celtic music. I have a musical background, though I am not a career musician, and would love to learn to play the bohdran. I'm also interested in geneaology and history.
I'm learning my way around here. I don't normally like online chats, because you can never see who you are talking to.

I must admit...it grows on you! I have to hear it 2 0r 3 times a day, just because it makes me smile. |

Hi Can anyone recommend a "place", physical or cyberspace, that I can buy a good bohdran (sp?) for not much $$$$? Also is there a good method book I can use to teach myself to play? I have played percussion for years, but the bohdran is unique, because of its apparent single-handedness.
I am thrilled to be able to listen to this station. I have a great fondness for Irish music in particular, and this site definitely provides plenty. |
