Tonights print media indicated that he was demoted to a position with no administrative or police power pending the outcome of the grand jury and a new police chief would be "permanently appointed. I would guess that they are playing it safe till the grand jury rules. Then he can not sue the city. I also suspect he had help and others may face a grand jury too
Imagine the tourism that Phoenix and Az lost because of this. The federal money amounts to 2 million and the related losses certainly dwarf that amount.
My cousin lives in Scottsdale and because of the high crime rate and the alleged kidnappings he and his wife put their home up for sale.
It makes one wonder what some people are thinking. There was no way he could have gotten away with the scam for any length of time and he certainly knew that. He was reporting a rate second only to Bogota Columbia.
I am glad it is not so as that may be where I spend next winter.
