Have you ever heard any weird versions of songs you like?
I ask this because the local NPR affiliate here in Chicago, WBEZ, plays jazz (mostly bebop) after 8pm Central Time. One night last week, I heard a jazz version of the Nirvana song "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Also, a few weeks ago I heard a jazz arrangement of the Black Sabbath classic "Iron Man". Both were pretty good, but it was just weird hearing two of my favorite metal songs played like that .

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
I once heard a 'muzak' version of Joy Division's, "Love Will Tear Us Apart" being played in a shopping mall. The singer apparently didn't pay attention to the lyrics and crooned it as a happy love song.
Just did a search on "love will tear us apart muzak" but didn't find the rendition. However, here's a gem.... it's called "Prozak for Lovers" and described as "A mellow lounge duo doing classic hard rock cover songs".
The track listing:
1. Proud Mary 2. Pump It Up 3. Aqualung 4. Love Will Tear Us Apart 5. (Don't Fear) the Reaper 6. Message of Love 7. I Wanna Be Sedated 8. London Calling 9. Rebel Rebel 10. Folsom Prison Blues
I wish I could recall more details, but there was a bluegrass band a couple of years ago that put out a cd of bluegrass covers of ACDC, I think. I thought it was actually pretty good!
