"Guard, open those doors. Can't you see we've got guests? Two of them. THREE!! That man's been pacing the castle walls for days now. Come in, come in."
Hmm. The big one doesn't seem to want entrance. "I could send some food. Or a wine skin? If you'd prefer something warm, I've got some cider mulling in the minstrels galley. It's got a fine blend with Master Mike's best Scotch. It'll warm the body and soul."
Interesting. As a minstrel, I'd have been shrugged off by the guard. Seems working in the library has earned me some extra pull around here.
"Good God. You two are soaked to the bone. No, I'm not the host, but it seems as though the man who should be doing this is off somewhere getting drunk as usual. You're lucky I passed by when I did. They don't often open the doors at this hour. Actually, the guards are usually nodding once the sun goes down."
Hah. A nervous twitch. That should keep him on his toes for the rest of the evening.
"Wait here for a while. I'll find someone who can fetch you a meal and some dry clothes. We're friends to all here, and share our table with friends and strangers alike."

Caw "I am a Canadian by birth, but I am a Highlander by blood and feel under an obligation to do all I can for the sake of the Highlanders and their literature.... I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic." -Alexander Maclean Sinclair of Goshen (protector of Gaelic Culture) We need more Stan Rogers. jams

Make it 2 and is this the FireDrake I have been hearing wispers about?
firedrake - a creature of Teutonic mythology; usually represented as breathing fire and having a reptilian body and sometimes wings.
A Ranger and a Highlander, I would say that this castle is well protected, now where the scotch? This Highlanders parched. Especially if we be to do battle with the mystic dragons. Would someone send the Bladesmith to see me, my olde claymore is in dire need...
