Well, the reason I didn't take one of those crowns is because I'm not Scottish, and I'm not Irish, and I'm not English. My ancestors were, but not me. I'm a New Scot. I supose I could pick the Saltire, but when I get to the point where I can join the Celtic Kingdom, that's where I'll be getting my crown.

Cailiosa! I did not think you were pointing any fingers! I was only admitting that I am a motor mouth! laugh.gif

Now I have a dilemna. I am nearing my 200 and can get a crown and flag, but I have no clue which one to take! I am half Italian, 1/4 English and 1/4 Scottish! Up to the 1800's (that we have been able to get information from) all my grandmothers were Scottish, but my grandfathers were all English! I love all things Scottish and my one great grandmother was of the MacPherson clan! So which flag do I take? unsure.gif Any suggestions? I don't want to do or be something that I am not. Me being worried....

Hi Wyld Piper! From here I see you have done 5 posts! Hope to see more and see you in chat.

Well as far as the crown, I decided like OldRaven. My ancestors were from England, Scotland and Italy, I am not. Now from my research the Celts went as far as Italy too. So since I am this mixed pot, I think I will keep the Celtic Nation and when I get to a 1000 posts I will probably pick the Celtic Kingdon crown. I think that would be more appropriate for me.

Hello Wyld Piper,

Nice to meet you. I hope you are enjoying this site as much as I am. It is great in here. Any questions you may have, someone in here will most likely have an answer, or at least an idea.

I hope to see you around and get a chance to chat.

Take care

Well, rose, I went with Scotland. It's as close as I can get to being a New Scot on here. It'll do for the next little while.

Well OldRaven, I guess I am fretting because I really wanted to go with Scotland because of some heritage from there and the fact that I love all things Scottish and my dream is to go to Scotland very badly. But I felt funny because I didn't know if you had to be directly from there yourself, have relatives directly from there or you could just take the Scottish crown because you have some lineage from there and proud of it. I am still confused! unsure.gif The Celtic Kingdom I definitely fit into and the rate I am going with all my posts, I should be there in no time! biggrin.gif

Rose,

Pick whoever you want, it's just for fun! tongue.gif
I chose Wales because my grandmother's grandfather was from Wales. Also, I thought so many were choosing Scotland or Ireland I was afraid poor Wales was feeling left out. laugh.gif And, I do like to be different. cool.gif But, England was a close second, since my maiden name is very, very English. However Wales has the cooler flag. biggrin.gif
As my German grandfather used to tell my Welsh grandmother - there's no use being Welsh if you can't be contrary. Thought perhaps that might fit me too. rolleyes.gif

Rose ..
All I can tell you is why I picked Scotland..
Michale was the reason I came to check out this site..
And Italy was not a choice , nor do I think it should be...
This is , after all a Celtic site ..

So I took His Country,
I don't think anyone minds.. lookaround.gif
As Elspeth said, its just for fun!

And besides Rose.. there is hard evidence that the Romans spent time in the
Isles... they did'nt call them *roamans* for nothing !
Someday , I have to tell you the Clan MacRoni story ..

MacFive and the mods are very good to us..
if we did this sort of trolling and farming on some other boards..
yikes.. a hit with the ban stick would be comin !

Paula

Thank you both Elspeth and Paula! You really helped a lot. I wasn't sure if it was l for fun as well. I have been on a couple other boards where if you did or said certain things you would be told about it and/or be banned! So I wasn't wanting to offend any of the folks who are either originally from these other countries or have close relatives from there. I spent until the wee hours of the morning last night doing my family research and my mother is definitely half English and half Scottish. We even have a clan name and my husband is mostly Scottish and he is from the same clan! And also since I love all things Scottish, I want the Saltire! So I am taking it! tongue.gif So thanks ladies for letting me relaxe and have fun! And Elspeth, I agree, the Wales flag is really beautiful! I have a little Welsh in me too!

I agree with you Paula, Italy should definitely not be in the Celtic group! biggrin.gif You'll have to tell me about Clan Mac Roni!

Thanks again ladies! wink.gif smile.gif

Rose-

You are too adorable. tongue.gif It is hard to decide though isn't it? I have been thinking about which to pick also. And have had the same worries, if I pick one, will anyone be upset because I am not from Scotland? But then I think, my family is definately from there. And on and on. lol

Arianrhod, I agree about the other boards. You have to watch your step alot of the time. You can get into trouble very easily, and it makes no difference if it was and oops or the fact that there were no guidelines. (chatting blindly.... cool.gif )

I think the mods here are great also, helpful and understanding. I can't see that what you choose will upset them in any way. I think the only thing that would upset would be an exageration of connection, making yourself sound more than you are, I guess misleading is the better word.

Did any of that make sense? I'm ranting again... taz.gif

Take care all
