Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
I had a wonderful birthday...Brian did indeed treat me like a queen. He took me out to dinner (screws and all, lol), and we had a lovely time.
Happy birthday to all those who shared my day! |

Ahhhh! It's windy down here!
Good ol' Frances is headed right towards us. She's still a cat 1 hurricane, and the eye is 50 miles away. The lights have flickered a few times, but we do have power still. And I still have to go back to work. ugh.
I hope everyone else that is affected or will be affected is staying safe!

Thanks for the welcomes, and thank you, CelticRose, for the avatar info. I just gave myself one...not sure if I'll stick with it, but for now? It'll work. It's a fan drawing of Kahlan, my namesake! |

QUOTE (Liriel Baenre Do'Urden @ 01-Sep-2004, 02:51 PM) | My name is a combination of two of my favorite book chars.
Do'Urden is from Drizzt Do'Urden the secondboy of the House Do'Urden. Left the drow city when he was but a young one and went on to become the greatest ranger despite his heritage.

I knew your name looked familiar! I read the Drow books a couple of years ago, and was suprised at how much I really enjoyed them. I'd never read stuff like that before, so I was a bit leery, but then again, I'll try pretty much anything that's printed on paper. I have serious respect for Drizzt, he was always so awesome. As for my name? It's basically the same; I chose a combination of my two favourite book characters. The Kahlan is from the lead female character in Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. She's a strong, intelligent woman who's not afraid to kick butt, lol. The Eyre is from the title character in Jane Eyre, one of my absolute favourite novels. I couldn't decide between the two characters, so I chose to combine them! |

Greetings all!
I suppose I should introduce myself, although I kind of feel like I know some of you already...and no, it's not because I'm some stalker girl or anything, lol. I am Avonlea22's wife, and he's had nothing but good to say about this forum since he registered, so I thought to myself, "Self, you should check it out. You like forums, you like Celtic music, you like to make a nuisance of yourself. Go for it!"
And lo, it was done.
Should I tell you a bit about myself? Let's see...I'm in university right now, will graduate in Spring '05 with a BA in English. Love to read, anything and everything, love my cats, have a current obsession with all things Hello Kitty, Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears (at age 26!!). I'm glad to join another forum, which will give me more chances to procrastinate in my schoolwork.
Hmm...I guess that's me in a nutshell. OH! I also love being a wife...or more specifically, Brian's wife. He's groovy. |

QUOTE (Avonlea22 @ 23-Aug-2004, 01:18 AM) | Well, I still want to get one! I told my wife today that a SportKilt would make a nice Christmas present. She said she already has things in mind. Guess I'll just have to add it to the list of not-so-important-to-get-right-away stuff.
She doesn't think I'd wear it, either. |
Not true! First off, I should introduce myself...*drum roll*...I'm Avonlea22's wife. Now that ya'll won't think some weirdo is responding, lol, I have to defend myself. Yes, Brian told me that he wanted a kilt for Christmas. However, we'd already decided on a certain limit for spending this year, and the kilt would blow it out of the water! Second, let's say I *was* thinking about it as a present. A present is supposed to be a SURPRISE, right? So of course I'd make like I wasn't going to get it for him, right? Geez honey, make me sound like a horrible wife! |
