I went on an Irish-themed movie binge recently. It was quite a film fest. I rented Michael Collins, The Committments and Waking Ned Devine , to name a few. Ned Devine has to be my favorite.

What are your favorite films set in Ireland, Scotland, Wales or Britian? Whitch ones are on your must rent / must buy list? Which ones would you reccomend to your friends at Celtic Radio?

laugh.gif Mel and Liam are certainly both eye-catchers... rolleyes.gif

But personally I loved the landscape scenery of the places in Ireland and Scotland very, very much! smile.gif

The mountains and scenery, bash.gif if I was looking for other scenery I would have said Catherine McCrormack, Sophie Morceau, or Jessica Lange. wub.gif

I have walked some of the hills in shown in both Rob Roy and Braveheart, the screen does not do them justice.

I would say "Breaking the waves" from Lars von Trier, because of the story (very strong), the landscapes of Scotland (amazing), and the music (glam rock groups from the 70s). One of my favourite films. smile.gif

I just remembered another fave. Local Hero. Set in a Northern Scotland costal village. Burt Lancaster was in it. Great scenery.

I go with Local Hero too. A far better representation of rural Scotland than any other I've seen.
