I am writing and I need some endearments translated into Scots Gaelic. Help please?

precious

loosome lass

darling

Quiet your heart, I'm here.

I love you

You, know, basic endearments. I don't need exact matches.

Thanks a bunch!

PS... Hi wizardman, how the heck have you been?

Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what it is like inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.

If society prospers at the expense of the intangibles,
how can it be called progress?

Hallo a ghràidh!
Hello dear/love! (There's one for you! smile.gif )

Tha mi gu math taptadh leat!
I am well, thanks!

Agus ciamar a tha thu fhéin?
And how are you yourself?

Bha mi gad ionndrainn!
I was missing you!

Here is a phrase or two for you:

Tha gaol agam ort/oirbh
I love you (use ort if speaking to one person/oirbh to a group or an elder)

a ghràidh
love/dear/my love/my dear (This is more the way one would say to a dear friend or a child)

mo rùin
my love (to a sweetheart - interesting that it looks like the English word ruin, isn't it! biggrin.gif Many a sour love has been the ruin of someone!)

I'll try to find some more for you! Take care and don't be such a stranger! We all miss you muchly!

eudail/m'eudail (Darling/my darling; to children pet/love/precious)

a ghalad (Used only in the vocative case: Dear! Darling!)

a ghaoil (my love/my dear/my darling; more intimate than a ghràidh - use for close family or sweetheart)

ulaidh/m' ulaidh (treasure/precious, my precious/my treasure)
