Hello everybody! I live in California but I've always love Ireland. My family came to America about 9 generations ago from Meath. I've just discovered Irish radio over the internet which brought me here. I'm having fun exploring the site and hope to have great discussions with you all!

How did I know that dundee would be the first to welcome you? biggrin.gif Don't worry about him, his bark is worse that his bite!

Anyway, welcome to CR! I'm so glad you found us here! The music is wonderful and the people are some of the nicest that you'll find anywhere on the net! So kick off your shoes, grab a cold (or hot) mug of your favorite beverage, and make yourself at home! There are lots of topics to choose from. I look forward to hearing more from you!

And welcome to the family! smile.gif

If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

Warmest welcomes smile.gif When I saw your handle I somehow knew Dundee would be falling over himself to make sure he welcomed you smile.gif Not to find shame, harm, or folly in his opinion of red-headed lasses. He at least seems to be mostly harmless smile.gif

Welcome to Celticradio.net, and feel free to dive right in!

Welcome Redheaded Lass, glad to have you here. I see you're from California; northern or southern? My older son is just east of San Francisco (Contra Coasta County I think.) Hope you enjoy the music and the company.

Thank you for the many warm welcomes! This feels like the place you've been looking for, but don't know you're looking for it till you find it. And I'm glad I found it. biggrin.gif

My family initially settled in New York and then a few generations later moved to Illinois. My grandfather moved to California 50 years ago and we've been here since.

Thank you CarolinaScotsman!

I'm in Southern California, east of Los Angeles. Although just two years ago my grandparents relocated north of Sacramento which is quite a bit closer than I am.
