Last Friday, I went down and took an entrance exam, and received a phone call Monday. I have been accepted into the bus driver training program of the Chicago Transit Authority (the City of Chicago's public transportation)! I have to go in on Monday to fill out some paperwork, then I will be told where and when to report. If I complete the training, I will take the Commercial Driver's License test. If I pass the test, I will hired by the CTA as a bus driver.
May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Congrats my good man. It's funny, you are excited about getting a job, and I am getting excited about not working anymore. I retire in thirty months and am about to start counting down. If I don't get ticked off and retire early.
Keep your seat belt on and stay safe. My husband's sister and her family live in Chicago. Crazy drivers so be careful Lad! We got you this big and we don't want anything to happen so watch out for the race car drivers.
Congratulations, and best of luck with the training!
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning? ~ J.R.R.
