Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
Nice to meet you both. I know your going to love the community here. So take off your shoes, grab your favorite beer, get comfortable and enjoy meaningful, sometimes challenging, controversial, and light-hearted conversations---as you listen to great Celtic music! Hope to see you around.

[COLOR=green]Hi there USA! I just love this station and have to have it on everyday. I love celtic music and can't get my fill of if I am looking forword to chatting with some of you soon and to make friends
May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Hey, all. My name is John and I'm from the western part of Kentucky. I have Scottish and Irish heritage on my paternal grandmother's side (Ross). I have been listening to Highlander Radio for a couple of years but have never joined until now. I am still waiting to be able to find the time to make my first Scottish Games. I've got an uncle that has attended several, but I never know when and if there are any in my area. Anyway, if there is anyone out there who knows of a good starter book to learn the Gaelic language, please let me know. I am also trying to learn the tin whistle... to the dismay of my wife and kids. Long enough for now, must get back to work. Sorry... some of my favorite musicians: Steven McDonald, Wicked Tinkers, Gary Stadler and the featured band today... Stone Soup Band.

Good to meet you ranger. I am of Irish descent as well. Here is a good resourse I learned about from one of the members here---It's free language lessons on INAC.org. Just pull down the link that says Irish Language. I think you have to join the org., but membership is free on-line. You can download these lessons right onto your computer.
As for the Irish Whistle or flute, I am learning this as well. I find I need someone experienced to demostrate how to play. This helps you pick up some pointers and their style of playing. It helped out a lot. Good luck!
Hello Roisin-Teagan. Thanks for the reply. I'll try that website first chance I get. As for the whistle, I don't think I'll have much luck finding someone in my area of the country that plays, but I appreciate the advice. I'm sure my wife will too.
Well met, new friends! Found you on a related site and had to connect w/you! Music is my preferred way of communication/expression, and CELTIC music can say things for me (and to me) that nothing else quite does; So glad to find you, looking forward to hearing from you...blessings and slainte...ladyteal
