Celtic Dance Tavern, New Premium Channel

We have some good news for those that like our Celtic Dance channel and our Ye Ol' Celtic Pub channel over at Live365.

These two wonderful channels are now combined into a brand new channel called Celtic Dance Tavern! This new channel features Celtic Fiddling and Dancing mixed with legacy tunes from the great Celtic musicians like the Clancy Brother, Rovers and Dubliners. Pull up a chair and a glass of Guinness to remember the way Celtic music was meant to be played.

Best of all you can hear them right here as part of the Celtic Radio Founder's club. Look for the new links in the music control panel.

So that will bring 4 individual channels to our Premium Channel Lineup:

• Highlander Radio
• Celtic Moon
• Celt Rock Radio
• Celtic Dance Tavern

We will still maintain the individual Celtic Dance and Ye Ol Celtic Pub on Live365 for those without a premium account.

Just curious if there are plans to add the station to the main page "Playing" Tab? (where you can vote and add songs to your favorites)..

That's a great suggestion! I think we can possibly add that to the main song box within the next week.

We are using a different technology for Celtic Dance Tavern which is hosted remotely rather than on our database here in the studio. But if we can make it work we will do it.

Just curious the status of adding Celtic Dance Tavern to the Now Playing. I've been listening through VLC and this is the only channel available. Wish the others were available as well.

Speaking of Celtic Dance Tavern we just added a bunch of new songs to the mix. Sounding very nice indeed.

To answer your question, we have experimented with adding the now playing to this type of channel with limited success. Celtic Dance Tavern is similar to our Celtic Dance and Ye Ol Celtic Pub channels on live365. The songs are hosted on a remote server and not streamed live using our broadcast software.

There is a master database of all songs submitted to Celtic Radio over the years and the problem is when we are dealing with remote matching based on the tags of the song it does not work very well.

We do have a solution for a now playing page which will be on the player page of Celtic Dance Tavern. We should have that completed soon.
