Hi all,
I am new here and wanted to say hello a word or two about myself. Professionally, I am a former 13 year IT worker-gone-back-college and Linux user ( at the moment, I am trying and using as I write this Fedora Core 1) and a 9 year US Navy veteran. I have seen some 25 countries, mostly in Europe/Mediterranean area, Middle East area and the Caribbean area. I have toured some of England. Once, I spent a day at Stonehenge. My favorite music here at Celticradio.net are the Wicked Tinkers, Clann an Drumma, Mary Black, Natalie McMaster and Ashley McIssac to name a few. My Irish whiskey is Power's and my American whiskey is Maker's Mark.

Eamon, I served on USS San Diego AFS-6 which is a fleet stores ship and USS America CV66, which is an aircraft carrier (www.ussamerica.org). CV66 has been decommissioned and is in a Navy boneyard in Philly.

Seawarrior,

Great avatar, and great quote. My favorite Henry was Kenneth Brannagh. "Whats he that wishes so!!!"

And if yer talking the E506 Band of Brothers, we gotta chat.

Your old ship is in my backyard. I pass her everytime I go south on 95. I am hoping they make her a museum, but I fear she is destined for the breakers.

Well, I guess that's OK. I am still recovering from the Army-Navy Rout, er, Game. Lost a $100 bet to my Navy brother.

Ahhhh. Maker's Mark. The nectar of the gods. I just can't abide that "Tennessee" brand.
