We just got back from the Celebration of Celts festival in the beautiful Hudson Valley, where we signed books, gave informational talks, and photographed participants to choose one for a sketch in the next book. The man who modeled for Dughall Hay Gordon joined me to sign books.

The Forest of Deer was filled with these wonderful old beech nut trees, and the one we called Green Monster was the biggest. It was early April 2004, so they didn't have their leaves yet. We weren't afraid to stand under them or the large old pines because the purpose of our visit was to find the old growth forest, the Louden stone circle, and the ruins of an old village. (It was all there.)
We are offering anyone who orders Dark Birthright from the website via Paypal or Google the ability to choose one of the Scotland pictures. We then email them the JPG.
The one called GreenMonsterDoug has successfully been enlarged to 16x20.

My husband and I traveled to Scotland many times to research a novel I was writing. We posted his photography online for everyone to see.

Hello... I am the author of Dark Birthright, the first book in a trilogy set in 17th century Scotland. This novel has been illustrated by well-known fantasy artist Jane Starr Weils and contains many of the old fisher folk songs of the northeast.
