I was just wondering what you are all afraid of...

I don't like thunderstorms no.gif . If the ancient Greeks and Romans were right, I don't like it at all when the gods are bowling fear.gif . Heights are a close second though. I like to have my feet on the ground.

It's heights, but with a weird twist. Put me on a flight at 35,000 feet and I'm good. Put me on a roof and I'm liable to wet. Go figure.

Mine is water.I really have no logical explination, but I get so nervous in water. If I can see and touch the bottom of a pool I'm not bad. A lake or other body of water that is murky and feels wierd onthe bottom, no way! I can't stand to have my head or face in the water either. Maybe I drowned in a past life wink.gif

I would say spiders are number one and lightning & wind are tied at number two.

But Spiders NOPR NOPE NOPR no way............

Well, I have to admit the first thing that came to mind was: http://www.pfaw.org/pfaw/general/default.aspx?oid=16725, a conservative "professional politician" who ran for Senate last year in Illinois He's just so, so scary. Yet, funny is a sort of sad, hypocritical kind of way.

Second place is definitely spiders tho. I'm allergic to them.

I'm afraid, irrationally afraid, of the deep sea -- mostly the Pacific. I wouldn't even go to Hawaii! Too much ocean, not enough land. I also have a silly fear -- thick staples when people pull them out and they go flying. shocking.gif

I have thought about this since the first day I saw this thead. And I have decided my signature says it all.

HOKA HEY! IT IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE! NO FEARS! That and a beer!

As i grow older my fears lessen closed in spaces, water over my head. I seem to of learn control how i react to thoes. not to say I've overcome all these are the big ones for me. little things I can deal with. show no fear before your foes. Lift your kilt high!!!

I don't like thunderstorms....got stuck in a bad one years ago, and it was awful...bad summer, that was...
Claustrophobic fears come into play for me sometimes, when ther are too many pple in one place,or I can't see the exit to get out!!(Inherited, that one is!!)
another that I have is kinda wierd....I love trains, but I don't like going over or under them through or over a bridge!! DON'T KNOW WHERE THAT CAME FROM!!

Okay so I don't like all the creepy crawlies....even the thought of spiders or even ants gives me the shivers. Blech. So they would be the top of the list. Close second though is a fear of failure. I hate failing...I want things to be right the first time. I am a control freak (there I said it tongue.gif ). It's my personality and there's nothing I can do about it. I fail all the time, and it's hard...it's hard to wrap my brain around it sometimes because I really thought it was going to work.

so there....I can be just as neurotic as the rest.

Took failure as my first choice which I see is tied with Thunderstorms-interesting from a psychology point of view -I blame high school for the failure thing-gym class. LOL. Actually for me it would have to be noticiable failure like when you run into the closed glass door in front of everybody. Other than than only two things really bother me-crawfish-just don't like the looks of them, and being suddenly transported to the middle of Antartica with summer clothes on. Yeah, wierd but there is not much to do here in the U.P.

That makes sense. really. I freak out when I go under water too quickly, and then I breath. yeah I'm a dork idiot.gif

Well , after I read the question I really ask myself .I think fear from mother nature (like water and other)I can control myself. To finish my life alone with no child , no lover ,being completely alone , isolate and being hate by everyone is probably what I fear the most.Anyway by definition a fear is not a logical thing and I know mine is ridiculous.

It has to be losing those I love sad.gif

I totally hate bad weather....it freaks me out soooo bad. we just had straight line winds destroy homes and barns this past spring.

Posted by: sisterknight 14-Sep-2006, 07:22 AM
spiders make me run for the hills, next would be mice.....which is weird considering our n.b home is loaded with snakes and bats....i just give them room...foolish eh?

Failure.
I've experienced it before and am still fear of it.

I hate this question as I can normally not think of anything that really scares me but, I do HATE rats, and wouldn't touch one if my life relied one it - hell no, I'd say well see y'all in next life... rolleyes.gif

I gotta say heights is my biggest fear.

Posted by: pflanary 21-May-2007, 01:37 PM
It used to be falling. I did a lot of falling before i got custom orthotics for my feet. Now I would say that my worse fear is my boss calling and fussing at me--think it's time for a different job?

(Added later:)

Actually that's more my most immediate fear. My worst fear would be my house catching fire and not being able to get my cats out.

Posted by: JaneyMae 12-Jun-2007, 09:12 AM
My biggest fear would be snakes cry.gif

Then there is the terror of someone running over my dog, Mathilda Peabody. crybaby.gif

Heights. Can't even get up on a step ladder without shaking so much I have to get down.

Posted by: Donajhi 14-Jun-2007, 09:10 PM
Flying, objects that is. My Aunt Clara at 96 has an arm that is deadly
when she throws things. Also, a short temper so when she starts to
spit out the mother tongue I leave the room. I love her but she is a
Henderson, short fuse............. taz.gif

I don't dislike what others call bad weather and I don't let bad weather deter me from going places. The exception is lightning that is close to my proxmity. A couple times I was within 30 of a ground strike. The bright light blinds you and the exremely sharp crack freezes you.

I am afraid of my cell phone. I hate it when it rings! I wouldn't have one except the company I work for needs me available 24hrs. a day, so they got one for me and they pay the bill.
I am getting a little hard of hearing and I wear bi-focals and am far sighted. I can't see the little characters on the display, and the electronic sounds that come out of the darn thing are hard for me to understand.

Ugh!! mad.gif
