Where Do Your Nicknames Come From?

I just went into my account and changed part of my name. It used to be "LiliMarlene", my first and middle names, but my friends usually call me "Lil", so I'm more comfortable with that.

When I first posted on here, that was something that I said, I explained my name and said that my friends usually called me "Lil" and that I hoped I would become friends with lots of people here, so far, I've met lots who are just great and am getting to being friends with several, though at times it may seem sporadic.....
it's never meant to be!

though my handle does not have anything to do with celtic, phoenix has been with me for 5years now, called so by my friends. you can figure out why! the 07 comes from my birthdate january 7th.. plus that i love 7 in general, seems everything is 7, zoroastrians somehow sacre this number.

other than being called "phin, phinny-winny" i like to be called "el" , keep eila for my grandpa to call me, & elham for my dad!!

All my mom ever told me was that she loved Marlene Dietrich movies and I was named for a character "Lili Marlene" in one of her movies..

In Jr. High I grew very enamored of the British Isles, esp. the Celts, and fantasy stories. I took Morgana Lafayette as my pen name, modernizing Morgan La Fae (who i think got a bad wrap). Most registries won't allow me to have the full length, so I just use the initials.

IrishBecca30 is pretty simple, I think.

I'm of Irish (& Scottish ) descent, hence Irish.. My name is Rebecca, but I wen't by Becca years ago, and I'm the BIG three-oh! , but don't tell anyone!

As simple and probably over-used as my name combinations are they fit me well. I have a penchant for wandering aimlessly whenever such a situation presents itself(not as often as I would like these days). As I always carry one of my tin whistles with me I often end up under a tree, on a beach, or some various other place playing/practicing whatever tunes seem to strike me at the moment.

Though I really have been given many nicknames by many people for many(go figure) reasons, I find this the most appropriate and liked name for myself on any and all celtic/irish/music sites I frequent( does a visit once a month count as frequent now??? )

I may have to change the last two numbers in my name. The player who wore #30 for the White Sox, Magglio Ordoñez, signed with the Detroit Tigers. Not only did he sign with a division rival, he had more than a few parting shots for my beloved South Siders !
