Hey this sure is a friendly place, I'm glad I stumbled in! Not that I have much time to read through the topics, but I'll get there!

TandVh, I was just looking for Scottish history in general. I am from Dunfermline so know a bit about Malcolm Canmore and St. Margaret and of course Robert the Bruce as they are all buried (or were?) just up the road! I know some stuff about the Wars of Scottish Independance and a bit about the Forty-Five. But then who doesn't know much about that lot? After all, when it comes to Scottish History they are the main topics that even the schools touched on (at least a long time ago when I was at school!)

Recently I've started reading more about the Roman times; I've also read about the rest of the Jacobite period; and not forgetting the Clearances (I'm currently reading the letters of Donald MacLeod in The History of the Highland Clearances by Alexander Mackenzie)... so, as I said, its history in general although I would like to read/find out more about the Picts!
