I've started a little limerick-slash-lyric here just for giggles and stuff! Add your line and feel free to be ASAP...As Silly As Possible!

(trust me...be silly!)

A fine fiddle flew a farthing
And strummed a tune of lore
It danced and played and laughed all day
And drank a pint or more!

Keep it going Highlander folks!

Since I'm a stickler when it comes to literary terms, I admit I made an error in calling this a limerick per say...

Main Entry: lim·er·ick
Pronunciation: 'li-m&-rik, 'lim-rik
Function: noun
Etymology: Limerick, Ireland
: a light or humorous verse form of 5 chiefly anapestic verses of which lines 1, 2, and 5 are of 3 feet and lines 3 and 4 are of 2 feet with a rhyme scheme of aabba

I suppose (and I use that term very loosely) that what I've started could be called a "lyric" because I thought of it in terms of being a fun little Irish drinking song. If anyone has any idea what the correct term for this type of writing I've started feel free to chime in! By all means...

(Haldur feels stumped and bewildered at the same time...is that possible?)

Not quite a lymerick, but I can't think of the name of the style either. Here's stanza #2:

Picked the pipes in plad purple stripes
Thus each note aired in jest
They met the fiddle on the deck
And played until sunset

Whilst the penny whistle walked by
He found the pipes and the fiddle
And then joining in on an old Irish hymn
Felt a warm glow in his middle

And the drum joined in on an Irish jig
Pounding lightly as heartbeats race
As the drum jumped down in the thicket he found
A singer of fair skin and lace

And she sang with her heart
Through the star-strung night
With her friends gathered 'round 'bout the heather
And they laughed and they played
Through most every town
On sunny days and through rainy weather
